@Epoque Disclaimer that I don't support piracy but that argument is flawed as there is no loss of product, and in fact if they buy it after pirating it there is no loss of sales. It's more accurate to say that they took a PS3 from a store, then left money on the counter for it later.
@Klearwater Killer The thing is, they had such massive turnover compared to companies in similar situations that clearly it IS abnormal. Generally speaking regardless of how 'innovative' or 'legendary' a game is, it's done with less people quitting games forever. A few whiners would be one thing, but this is massive.
@Schlecht It's only a plot hole if nobody calls him on it. I'm forseeing a rather awesome speech by Mercer that basically boils down to "not so different, eh?" If Heller just shrugs it off or the speech never comes, I'll be very disappointed, but if it's actually a good plot point? Well then.
It was touched upon earlier, but really the 'projecting images' thing is secondary to the potential AR holds. The image recognition ITSELF is where the real importance is, though honestly I see a lot more 'serious' applications for it than 'gaming' ones. And of course random miscellany like being able to look at a restaurant and get a detailed ZAGAT review.
@Hunter141072 Uhhh... Nintendo LOVES slamming down distributors of modchips, flashcarts, etc., we see something about it every few months here, remember?
So many to choose from. The most fond memories came from PSO. One of the more stellar ones was Skies of Arcadia. The Sonic Adventures were rather classic, Jet Set Radio is of course a legend. Shenmue was amazingly detailed for the time, and Power Stone 2 is STILL a good party game. I'm gonna go with Phantasy Star Online I guess.
@LilanKahn I'm still under the impression that it's more him making money off publically distributing said hacks. Though I confess I haven't been following it carefully enough, really. And donations for that express purpose would count. Am I wrong about that?
