I think 1% of HDTV owners have 1080p-capable HDTVs so Sony not releasing any 1080p games in not a big deal.

However, I do think they should have added compatibility for 1080i seeing how a majority of CRT HDTV owners can't do 720P.

But since a majority of Sony TV's sales are with their LCD HDTVs, which support 720P (even from when it first was released several years ago), they really didn't care about 1080i comptability

Don't be so quick to take your local TRU's word for it.

If you have ever worked retail, there is a HUGE GAP in communication between regional/disctric managment and local store management. These local stores may get the greenlight to do preorders the night before sunday...who knows??
