What would happen if an automobile manufacturer mass manufactured a car with the enthusiast in mind (as in weighs next to nothing, handles great, costs peanuts etc), but with a complete disregard for safety? Can a car still be sold with a zero star rating?
I don't like the Tonight Show, but I do love his videos from his garage. I love being exposed to a facet of automotive history I otherwise probably would not have heard of.
Just the TSX I daily drive. A tad more than 180hp, but a lot less torque. Still get torque steer. Though you're probably right, with the right suspension tuning, torque steer should be a relatively simple problem to minimize under 200hp.
The looks are not the CR-Z's problem. I personally love the way the car looks. Most enthusiasts are just asking for a non-hybrid version that can easily be punched up a bit in performance. Like a K-series engine.
They did the same thing to the CR-Z. Instead of a 4 seater, they made it a 2 here in North America, eliminating all chances of me buying one. The official excuse? The lack of rear seat headrests. What they left behind is an area which looks like seats, but is made from hard plastic with a yellow sticker saying they are not seats.
Not saying I would use the rear seats on a regular basis, but to haul a couple of friends in a pinch? Of course I would.
