2011 Hyundai Equus named IIHS 'Top Safety Pick'

Apr 15th 2011 1:51PM (Autoblog)
I was thinking more along the lines of a modern day Lotus Elan (proper rear-drive model), but I can't deny the value of the Mustang.

Government regulations would still require an airbag, crumple zones etc. I would assume.

2011 Hyundai Equus named IIHS 'Top Safety Pick'

What would happen if an automobile manufacturer mass manufactured a car with the enthusiast in mind (as in weighs next to nothing, handles great, costs peanuts etc), but with a complete disregard for safety? Can a car still be sold with a zero star rating?

Not being facetious, genuinely curious.

Good for MINI to start rallying. I would enjoy seeing these cars flying around corners. I may prefer seeing MINI Cooper S ones instead though.

I don't like the Tonight Show, but I do love his videos from his garage. I love being exposed to a facet of automotive history I otherwise probably would not have heard of.

Report: Ford Fiesta ST to get 180 horsepower

Apr 1st 2011 10:08AM (Autoblog)
Just the TSX I daily drive. A tad more than 180hp, but a lot less torque. Still get torque steer. Though you're probably right, with the right suspension tuning, torque steer should be a relatively simple problem to minimize under 200hp.

Mugen promises "Type R-like" performance from hotted-up Honda CR-Z

Mar 17th 2011 2:04PM (Autoblog)
The looks are not the CR-Z's problem. I personally love the way the car looks.
Most enthusiasts are just asking for a non-hybrid version that can easily be punched up a bit in performance. Like a K-series engine.

Report: Toyota to limit U.S. Prius V to five seats, other markets seat seven

They did the same thing to the CR-Z. Instead of a 4 seater, they made it a 2 here in North America, eliminating all chances of me buying one. The official excuse? The lack of rear seat headrests. What they left behind is an area which looks like seats, but is made from hard plastic with a yellow sticker saying they are not seats.

Not saying I would use the rear seats on a regular basis, but to haul a couple of friends in a pinch? Of course I would.

Seems like a very shallow adaptation of the minivan to me. If this works out for them, at least it'd be a relatively low investment cost.

I would love to see how Corel stacks up to Premiere Elements (which is fine, but still had a bit of a learning curve).
