Bobby Kotick on the business of Call of Duty: DLC, Treyarch, Infinity Ward

Nov 13th 2010 4:19PM (Joystiq)
If Call of Duty is going Subscription based, that would mean that, xbox members will have to pay for their gold membership and also Call of Duty membership, which would make ratings of Call of Duty go down abit, most people will pay, as there are many "COD Fanboys" out there who will do anything to get their fix, Now, for those who just play it for fun, COD will lose alot of people, as paying to play a game we already spend 60 bucks on, thats a ripp-off, If you were to catch me playing World of Warcraft, from which you'll never see me playing that terrible game, its fair on that side, buy the game for low costs ( without exp packs ) and pay like 20 bucks per month, thats alright, but getting ps3, users who are free to pay for online, would defeat Sonys ps3, as its FREE to play online, and Microsofts, pay to play for better online, this would be defeated, for what? Activision just wants more money,,, what does a user get out of the subscription, other then playing the game? Free DLC always? Free To play every COD game in the future? or will it be 50 bucks per COD game per month?

Im not forgetting to mention the Wii, but there is not a big fanbase of COD on this console, but yeah if there will be subscriptions then that fanbase on the Wii will be gone for good,

Activision you don't need more money, Rather need to give some away, in terms of More FREE DLC etc,
