I passed have passed on buying anything since the first AC. Partially because of some things I didn't like and partially because of other games that appealed to me more. However, I have to admit that I am interested in this game due to the setting and reasoning that the game play and mechanics should be far better that what I remember.
I agree with that statement. I am sure they are holding back some things for E3 to generate some excitement as well as counter Sony and the inevitable Nintendo Wii U stuff. Rampant fanboyism is just around the corner.
They could have just set that money on fire and pissed on it to put it out, it would have been quicker and probably less painful than what they will end up with.
I bought Far Cry 2 and ended up giving it away to a friend. For some reason the FPS view just seemed off to me and the guns took up too much of the screen. It really bothered me. I always wondered if I was the only one with some kind of allergic reaction. Anyway, I hope this game does not share that trait and let it please have a demo before I waste any money...
So very glad I hesitated and did not buy this. Based on that review, I can't even justify a purchase when it hits the bargain bin. What a waste of an IP.
I would point to Enslaved last year and Beyond Good and Evil as a game reference point that makes the argument against you. Some games are critical or cult darlings and sell total shit as far as profit for a company.
