New Xbox Live terms of service prevent class action lawsuits against Microsoft [update: opting out not allowed]
Dec 7th 2011 2:17PM (Joystiq)Get the doc notorized. Make copies. Send one copy to MS and keep the original for yourself . Just for the sake of it, I'd also send additional copies to the State Attorney General's office in both Washington and the state I reside in. At least that way, SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE has a record. Not sure the good it will do in the long-run, but.... it's still what I'll do.
New Xbox Live terms of service prevent class action lawsuits against Microsoft [update: opting out not allowed]
Dec 7th 2011 2:14PM (Joystiq)Retain a dated copy for yourself. Maybe even get it notorized. Just for shits and giggles, I'd send a copy to the State Attorney General: Washington's and the state in which I reside in.

Rumor: Canadian EB Games stores merging used and new game shelves
Nov 23rd 2011 12:33PM (Joystiq)so you think it is a fair and justifiable business practice to sell two completely different products (one new; one used), but mix them together on a shelf (one intentionally placed behind the other "preferred" item)? you don't see this as deceit? You don't see this as a ploy by the business to artificially increase it's used sales numbers by banking that a fair margin of consumers will simply be grabbing what they see without realizing it isn't a new item?
that a "sale is a sale" mentality is exactly what's wrong in the world today. what about earning an honest wage without taking advantage of your consumer base to make more profit? highlighting a particular product is one thing; specifically sticking the new version of a product behind the used version in the hopes the buyer won't notice is outright deceit. the fact that the price label would be identical between the two only furthers proves the deception of such a scenario.

Jun 16th 2011 5:14PM (Joystiq)I beg to differ. Ninja Gaiden (XBOX) also used (extremely well) one button for light attacks (X) and one button for heavy attacks (Y) that could be used to propagate combos.
Ninja Gaiden release date: 03.02.2004
God of War release date: 03.22.2005
What God of War did was introduce the "timed button press" mechanic to the genre and is, in my opinion, one of the most over-rated games ever released; fun, but not the amazing bench mark everyone wants to make it.
Down vote me to Hell... if you dare.
Best Buy giving $100 gift card for pre-ordering and buying five upcoming games
Jun 16th 2011 12:32PM (Joystiq)yep. it's called Use Tax. Another little tidbit, an online retailer is only required to charge sales tax on purchases if they have a physical location within that state. Therefore, the state that the Amazon HQ is in or warehouses, etc, would require Amazon to charge residents of those particular states sales tax on purchases made online.
