I played the demo and I honestly don't understand why EA has this obsession to make all of their sports games revolve around using the right analog stick to perform actions.
It worked for Skate but I played both EA's MMA and Elite and I have no idea why they would consciously decide to have their games controls be so loose.
Elite 11 was neat to play in the tutorial mode but when you actually got to the real game the controls completely fell apart.
tr;dr: EA use the buttons on the controller instead of the right analog stick
Fantasy and escapism are great in video games but I think it's time we see some sort of step taken to change the way we view and play games.
I'm a firm believer that games have the potential to be something amazing one day but at the moment I'll doubt that will ever happen when you have publishers and developers who care more about the bottom line than creativity.
I think I've played enough chest pounding male ego trip games where all you do is level up through rewards, xp etc. fighting one enemy after another.
this is true, i hate regenerating health... I'm sorry but it's for pussies
I came from the Socom and SNES thought of mind, epically Socom where you only had 1 life and no regenerating health, in both single and multiplayer. The game was tough but it made me feel human, where as today I play games in which I have check point every 5 secs and I'm a super human capable of magically recovering my health in 5 seconds.
It's becoming stale and videogames have lost that sense of disempowerment.
I hope Gaijin Games releases some sort of Bit Trip collection on disc. I only recently started becoming interested in game but I would much rather just buy it on disc then Nintendo's screwed up WiiWare service.
