Halo 4 bringing the Battle Rifle back, introducing unlockable abilities in progression system

Mar 5th 2012 9:35AM (Joystiq)
As an avid Halo fan, I'm welcome to all of these detailed changes.

The look and feel of this game seems darker and more "sci-fi."
The problem with Bungie's Halo games was the lack of emotion, especially in Reach. They were always so afraid to push the envelope.

A progression system might be awesome, we can't judge it until we see what other mechanics they implement.

The Schafer stigma: How his successful Kickstarter went to your head

@ItchyBarracuda

I agree 100%.

The problem with Double Fine's success is that inspires so many other people NOT to work hard. I've seen so many musicians in my music scene, set up kickstarters for people to pay for THEIR album to be recorded.

Kids in my interactive media department, who have literally little to no talent, thinking they can just set up a kickstarter to get their "indie" project going. Essentially, I take it with a grain of salt.

Mass Effect 3 'From Ashes' DLC also sold separately from Collector's Edition

@Traptz

Modern games are more sophisticated than just "providing mod tools."

Hell, look at Skyrim, their mod tools are extremely complex and their STILL going to be releasing DLC content. You don't work for the developer, how do you know that their DLC cycle didn't start till sometime far after the beta?

Games (with the amount of discounts, pre-order coupons, faster sales, digital availability, and dollar inflation) are literally cheaper than ever. Stop complaining that your game PACKED with content, has additional content for the fans that want to support the developers.

@Drakkhenden

The Cerebus network code, and some DLC that you're apparently boycotting. I'm not stoked on it either, but honestly, it's not going to drop in price for a considerable amount of time.

@The angry pro consumer gaming ga

People like you baffle me. You still get the entire complete experience without this additional DLC. You would rather wait over a year (possibly more) just to save less than 10 dollars? That's barely more than two cents a day.

Especially after you buy a Vita at launch?

Not to mention be able to play Co-op with your friends while the game is still relevant.

Looks horrible? Platinum Games makes some of the best Japanese titles out there.

You're entitled to your opinion, but gosh is it a bad one.

Five Modern Warfare 3 DLC drops planned for next three months, 20 total over next nine months

@mcnerven

You are not taking complexity or value into account. While Halo Reach didn't have as many multiplayer maps at release, it instead had many Firefight levels, theater, forge, and a completely co-op campaign.

Bf3 is running off Frostebyte 2.0 which is complex. Their first map pack was free if you pre-oredered. Even the initial offering was reasonable and extremely entertaining.

As for MW3, sure that's an obscene amount of content. But for COD fans, I highly doubt they mind a constant continuation of their favorite game.

I own all three of those games, all of them were well worth the 60 dollars. I don't see what their is to complain about. It isn't like you forced to purchase the DLC.

Report: Activision scoops up blackops2.com

@Traptz

Why? I know I personally cannot wait for the wonky spawns, terrible frame rates/in game lag, goofy kill-streaks and terrible maps.

How could I forget the being blown up by remote controlled cars by a kid with a nazi or phallic emblem with a purple skull as his dot sight.

So much fun.
