This was all deliberate. It's a necessary step to get what MS wants. This is a lonnnnnng process to break, as the networks and studios are as slow to change income streams and content delivery as any industry out there. I'm confident MS looks at this as just another step in the long term negotiations to break the monopoly (pun intended).

I think Google, MS and Apple have similar long term plans with the cellphone carriers and moves over recent years strongly hint at it.

So why was the Vita launched first in Japan it wasn't the market most hungry for it? Why were the launch titles geared so much for a Western audience?

As the proud owner of a Windows Phone, this could potentially be the sweetest of the sweet IF

1) the selection remains exactly as it is now or better for movies and tv shows AND

2) the price is not too crazy. $20 a month would be brilliant.

Can MS pull something that wonderful off? I have my doubts due to the movie studios and tv networks. But I thought the same with the record labels yet we have something as sweet as the Zune Pass ...
