Encrypted Text: Hunger for Blood is terrible (to play)

Dec 31st 2008 12:12PM (WoW)
How about rather than have the entire buff disappear after 30 seconds, it just drops it down to it's previous rank. So, you have HfB up for 30 seconds with 9%, and when it gets to 0 seconds left it switches to 6% for 30 seconds. That way it still only requires 1 button press to renew it back to 9%. So if you miss HfB in your rotation, you don't have to use 90 energy to get it back, or just not use it at all for the rest of the fight. It doesn't make the ability free but it gives you an extra 30 seconds to renew it.

RIP, CompUSA: 1984 - 2008

It wasn't loud because no one shopped there. People were always available to help you because... no one else was shopping there. They're now out of business because... *drumroll* NO ONE SHOPPED THERE. Of course Best Buy is going to be noisy, it's a store that sells music, car stereos, video games, surround sound systems and televisions not including the fact that larger stores has 5000 people shop their daily. And of course associates are going to be busy because of the amount of people in the store, especially at this time of year. Since when did every CompUSA employees know what they were talking about? Every store you go in to, whether it be BBY, CC, Target, or CompUSA will have smart employees and will have people that don't know what they're talking about or what you're asking. Thats what happens when your main source of labor is high school and college students.

Good luck with that. Best Buys stock is $50+ and companies like CC are below $10. And why does everyone hate Best Buy? (Other than that video lol) Take a look at the dwindling competition and then back at Best Buy...

Rock Band impressions ... from a Best Buy kiosk

"I told a BB employee about it, and while he didn't just give an apathetic response like I thought, he wasn't like 'oh! we'll have to try that!'"

Thats because in-store employees don't really have access to that demo, nor did they set it up. Theres a group of employees that travel from store to store in a specified area designated to set displays like these up. And trust me, we're well aware of the mic "problem", its right on the main page of employee toolkit. (the bigger problem would be having to listen to people singing all day long...)

So I'll try and give you more of an apathetic response like you expected and deserved... i have more important things to do other than set up a microphone that no one will use for a game that comes out in less than 2 weeks and we're going to sell through anyways. but thanks for the input.

Halo DS plot thickened by video footage

Oct 2nd 2007 6:20PM (Joystiq)
I can't believe people still doubt this. This isn't coming form some random blogger, this is IGN, a reputable gaming site. They don't just make shit up. And then you're STILL denying the game exists after seeing them physically playing it on their DS's. Why would they go through the trouble of creating a game to look and sound like halo and then make it capable of local play just to prove something they said in the first place?

I understand being cautious but god damn.

Best Buy customer sues after being clobbered by falling TV

Oct 2nd 2007 4:57PM (Engadget)
"The customer is under no obligation to be mindful of where he is standing. It is the BB employee's job to say to the customer, "Better move out of the way." IANAL, but it would seem as if this customer had done nothing wrong, and it is the responsibility of the employees to ensure the safety of the consumer."

Well it is common sense to not stand under a giant hydraulic lift, but you're right it isn't his obligation. BUT, Best Buy SOP states that if the employee is operating "Big Joe", then there should be an accompanying employee with him telling him that it's "All Clear" when he is coming back down in case om employees on the ground. So there are procedures set in place to protect the customer, but if a TV falls off of a shelf and the employee was following all of the safety guidelines (accompanying employee, harnessed in, was properly certified to use the device, etc) then the company isn't at fault. That isn't saying it's the customers fault, it's just saying that it's an ACCIDENT.
