Bungie were afraid to push the envelope?
That must be why in Reach they got rid of the main character, replaced one of the most popular weapons in Halo 2/3 and added load outs that completely changed the way the game played?
Whether you liked it or hated it Bungie didn't play it safe with Reach and they were willing to try new ideas.

The problem seems to be related to playing the game solidly for hours at a time. It's not much of a problem so long as you're willing to limit your play time.
