If a game has a story, it should be good. Nothing is better than playing through awesome gameplay AND enjoying plot progression that moves you to play to find out what happens next.
I wholeheartedly and respectfully agree with you. Mark Meer does a great job as Shepard regardless of how good Hale does FemShep. However, you also have to consider that Hale has a bigger fanbase because of her prior experience, hence the seeming exaggerations.
You know Mass Effect became multi-platform because of EA, right? By the way, if you don't like the app, don't play it. EA does not have a gun to your head. When ME 3 drops, you'll be too busy killing Reapers to care about the facebook app.
Amen to that! I can't believe how much people love to complain about how a game they like ahs become popular and is being marketed. If you're already purchasing the game, don't waste your time whining and just get ready to enjoy the ME 3 Experience.
That was amazing! And to think some people were worried the multiplayer would RUIN Mass Effect. I personally can't wait to share the experience with other fans of the series.
Of course human characters are gonna look dull when they're compared to ALIENS. However, Jacob and Miranda were way duller than Ashley or Kaiden. Kaiden killed his instructor at Jump Zero. Ashley dislikes dealing with alien races because of her ancestor's actions during the First Contact War. By learning about them, you learned about the ME Universe. That's gotta count for something, right?
@strang221 Wait, are you saying it's bad if an RPG chooses to reward a player's skills? Or do you want some form of hybrid where both player and character skills coalesce into a thing of beauty. Personally, I don't mind if the game rewards player skills as long as it does not disregard the need of my character's in-game skills.
This is true! If you are playing a role in the game's world and shaping the world with your decisions, you are playing an RPG. Personally, I can never understand why people will constantly complain about whether Skyrim or ME2 are RPGs or not.
Bottom Line: They are both great games. Whether they are RPGs or not does not take away the fun you'll have playing either.
Great article! When you put it that way, it really shows why a lot of people were disappointed. Which makes sense, considering how vast and awesome FF XII was, it would be very hard to go back to such a linear game.
Do Japanese RPGs need good stories?
