I sure hope that "fan-requested" change is fixing the music.
So I can have a reason to play the new music in the game for a change.
The lack of drum tracks REALLY kills a lot of the tracks for me.
And as far as music goes, maybe they can fix the horrible looping quality of Balrog's theme in the classic version, too. And several other songs, like Running Hell.
Heck, I may have loved the game, but the music side of things is done SO shoddily. Let's hope I can rescind that statement when the bug (finally) comes out.
The live action trailer certainly makes me want this game a whole lot more. I too am worried about over-melodrama like any fan, but I have some faith that Sakamoto has his heart in the right place and knows what he's doing (as far as bad writing goes, I think the only Metroid games with bad writing are Corruption and Hunters, games Sakamoto wasn't involved with).
As for the amazon deal, i'm glad I pre-ordered if only for the fact that I can also get Sin and Punishment 2 for cheap now.
To be clear, this game takes place after Super Metroid, or Metroid 3.
The Prime games take place after Metroid 1/Zero Mission.
The timeline was stated pretty succinctly in the video, but with the Primes, it goes like this:
Metroid/Zero Mission
-Prime -Hunters (ugh) -Echoes -Corruption
Metroid 2: Return of Samus
Super Metroid
---METROID: OTHER M---
Metroid Fusion
The reason they didn't include the Primes is because, as stated, they weren't all that important to the main storyline (concerning Metroids, the Pirates, Zebes, and SR388). ALSO, the main 'team' of Metroid had little to nothing to do with the Prime games; it was all Retro Studios for the most part.
