Today's duckiest video: Rockin' Duck Hunt
Apr 10th 2007 4:41AM (Joystiq)E3's PS3 Motor Storm presentation vs. reality
Dec 3rd 2006 4:49PM (Joystiq)I'm no xbox 360 hater or PS3 fanboy, but that trailer actually looks really nice. Before E3, they probably edited the video after it was recorded and added a few additional dirt filters and other subtle visual effects.
COMPANIES DO THAT IN ADS FOR COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS. EVEN FOR 360 AND WII GAMES. PDZ and Red Steel are two prime examples. They also probably recorded Motor storm from angles you as a player cannot access to make the game look cooler. They are developers of the game, they can do that.
Heck, increasing the games appeal is the very reason why pre-rendered footage even exists. I'm well aware that this was meant to be in-game footage, and I think it was very close to being it. They just wanted to add those extra subtle effects.
#19, as for PDZ, their whole advertisement campaign showed off the better looking pre-rendered Joanna. Heck, they even made a model render for the men's mag FHM. PDZ was overly hyped and what disappointed me the most was how they were not true to the original game.
Duke Nukem ... Finally?
Dec 3rd 2006 6:58AM (Joystiq)Amazon.co.uk states a September 29, 2007 release date. (My birthday to be exact. :D) Not that amazon counts as any real confirmation, but hey, thought I should comment it anyway.

May 5th 2006 10:27AM (Joystiq)Neat music though during those 90 secs.
First part of the thank you section has music very inspired by Devil May Cry it seems. Scarily similar.

Feb 23rd 2006 2:28PM (Joystiq)Noughts and Crosses was implemented on the EDSAC computer by A.S. Douglas as part of human-computer interactivity research at Cambridge University in 1952.

What Higinbotham did in 1958 was quite cool, yes. But he was not the first like you claim.
Single player gaming doomed, say execs [UPDATE 1]
Feb 11th 2006 9:59AM (Joystiq)Single player games extend their purpose futher than just being alone in front of the screen, and will therefore not die like the point-and-click adventure genre.
