We actually thought that the linearity of the first part of the game reflected the first world you start in, Cocoon. Everything is strictly ordered and regimented there. When you finally get to the other world -- Pulse, the source of chaos -- the game opens up and you're free to choose your path.

I will say that while I understand your eSata woes, I also see why you get the comments about it. SSD-anything should be way faster than these spinning platters. Your read & write values are, for the most part, clustered so tightly that it's hard not to suspect you're measuring FW800 more than anything else.

@David: Madness? This is MacBook *Pro* town. ;-) Yeah, the prices are incredible, but I figure that in a year, I'll be able to get an SSD and maybe more ram, and it'll be like having a whole new computer again.

OWC even has 12 GB and 16 GB kits for 2011 15" and 17" MBPs! Amazing.

Yep, me too. I hardly had DragonAge crash, and I'm almost at the end of the game (120 hours in). I updated, and now it's crashing all the time. Very frustrating!

I still have one, and I still use it, and it lasts through the work day, which is long enough. Rockin' machine.

My Treo picks up smudges from touching my face, even though its screen is quite recessed, unlike the glossy flat iPhone screen. I don't know how people don't have a problem with this.
