I dunno, have you ever bought anything that's not made in China?

I was in a Q5 the other day when I was in China. I thought the interior, particularly the seats were really well made and I commented:"This must be made in Germany." The driver responded:" Nope, it's made in China." That blew my mind as I've been in many Chinese-made cars and they were all generally a bit low quality. I guess it's my first time in a Chinese-made premium car.

The Chinese did beat the Japanese and Americans to the market, and
guess what? It didn't sell. BYD had grand expectations for it's F3DM
sedan, but only managed 100 of them.

Exactly, it's not like the build high-tech things like bullet trains, solar panels, or electronics. Nor do they have any significant population of grad students. We'll be fine, it'll take them at least a century to become a true global power.

I think you're missing the whole point of this vehicle, it's a cheap military jeep, no more. You could prolly build 10 to 20 of these for the same cost of a hummer. The only reason it's there is because the Chinese want to exploit every opportunity to make a profit, and there's bound to be some military buff out there that wants one.

A lot of Chinese vehicles have them these days.
