Sons of Anarchy creator in talks for game, likely browser-based

Feb 28th 2012 6:45AM (Joystiq)
Not many people know this, but Kurt Sutter has some ties to the video game industry from a few years ago when he wrote a script for a movie called "The Unforgettable," which was inspired by Sega's Condemned series.

I interviewed him back in 2007 on it: http://www.thekartel.com/video-games/sega-nerds/14090041-scriptwriter_condemned_2_movie_still_in_the_works.html.

Your headline is not very indicative of the content of the story.

4.5 million pirated copies of Witcher 2 out there, according to CD Projekt

This one of the main reasons publishers will eventually bring all of their content to OnLive and other cloud-based services. There's absolutely no piracy with OnLive.

Red Faction: Armageddon PC demo hits OnLive exclusively (for now)

@Scuffles Except for the fact that OnLive only has PC-based games on its service.

Proper punctuation is probably pretty important too, tiger.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution coming to OnLive, free MicroConsole and original Deus Ex with pre-order

I'm not too familiar with the Deus Ex series, so I think I'm going to go with preordering Red Faction and Duke Nukem.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution coming to OnLive, free MicroConsole and original Deus Ex with pre-order

@BombProofGIJoe You're still wrong. To make things clear, think of OnLive as Netflix for video games, but even better.

You can subscribe to the OnLive PlayPack for $10 a month and have access to more than 50 games, you can purchase a full PlayPass for a game that's going to be cheaper than what you'd find on the PC or on consoles or you can rent a game for a few bucks for three days.

I subscribe to the PlayPack and have purchased PlayPasses for Batman: Arkham Asylum, Mafia 2 and Homefront. I paid $5 for Batman and Mafia 2 each, and I paid $50 for Homefront but received a free MicroConsole and Metro 2033.

If you can get over the fact that you don't own physical copies of the game, OnLive is a tremendous service, and the company really cares about its customers. The Amnesia deal proved that.

The service is constantly improving, too. They just recently added voice support to the newer games and are starting to integrate Achievements, too. The truth is, it takes time to build a full online service that's comparable to Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, but they're continuing to work on it and make it better.

I'm really excited to see what they'll announce at E3. I'm hoping they'll announce some new publisher partnerships and bring full controller support to all the games on the service.

Armageddon a free OnLive MicroConsole with Red Faction pre-order

May 4th 2011 11:35PM (Joystiq)
This is a great deal for those people who don't already own a MicroConsole or Red Faction: Guerrila, but what about the core OnLive users? What incentive is there for us to purchase the OnLive version over the console ones?

It would have been nice had OnLive offerred any free game on the service for those people who already own a MicroConsole.
