May 20th 2011 10:38AM (Joystiq)You can subscribe to the OnLive PlayPack for $10 a month and have access to more than 50 games, you can purchase a full PlayPass for a game that's going to be cheaper than what you'd find on the PC or on consoles or you can rent a game for a few bucks for three days.
I subscribe to the PlayPack and have purchased PlayPasses for Batman: Arkham Asylum, Mafia 2 and Homefront. I paid $5 for Batman and Mafia 2 each, and I paid $50 for Homefront but received a free MicroConsole and Metro 2033.
If you can get over the fact that you don't own physical copies of the game, OnLive is a tremendous service, and the company really cares about its customers. The Amnesia deal proved that.
The service is constantly improving, too. They just recently added voice support to the newer games and are starting to integrate Achievements, too. The truth is, it takes time to build a full online service that's comparable to Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, but they're continuing to work on it and make it better.
I'm really excited to see what they'll announce at E3. I'm hoping they'll announce some new publisher partnerships and bring full controller support to all the games on the service.
Armageddon a free OnLive MicroConsole with Red Faction pre-order
May 4th 2011 11:35PM (Joystiq)It would have been nice had OnLive offerred any free game on the service for those people who already own a MicroConsole.
