New Sadness artwork is not screenshots

Apr 30th 2007 8:33PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Well, it's all based on Slavic horror stories, so yeah, the 'Frankenstein period' (mid 1700s-1800s?) is about right.

I really really like the look of this game and I badly want it to happen.

Also, is it just me, or do those very nice bits of artwork above have a distinctly 3D model-ish quality about them? I mean, the faces and most of the image looks painted/illustrated/whatever, but there's a few bits (fingers, boots, pants) that seem distinctly... Polygonal.

Eledees gets the bad bump

I'm in Australia, and I would like to continue to make it known that WE ARE NOT A F#$%ING PART OF EUROPE. Why the hell do we cop their delays? Why do we cop their stupid overtly PC name changes (in Australia, 'bit' means either a small piece of something, or a single binary digit, nothing else)? Why do we have to wait for the game to be localised into 15 different languages when we speak English?!?!?

Argh! Nintendo have finally started treating us as an independent region, but only just - we get some games before Europe, and an independent console release date, but for the most part, we still seem to be piggybacked onto europe for games. WHY?!

Soul Calibur survey ignites fiery rays of hope

YES, YES, F#$% YES.

Virgin Radio hits the Wii

Apr 10th 2007 8:42PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Now, if they actually got together with Nintendo and offered a dedicated 'Virgin Music' channel, rather than just adding opera-friendly webpage support, this could be absolute gold.

Still - awesome. It'll be interesting to see how iit turns out. I never really thought of using the Wii as a streaming audio device. Hmmm.

Wii Warm Up: Your favorite so far

Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Honestly, what other answer is there?

Beautiful Katamari, RE4, and a new game tentatively confirmed

Apr 4th 2007 11:11PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Katamari + Wii = Love :D

Honestly, the fact that you can make the rolling motions with both your hands instead of two sticks has got me sold. Hell, I wouldn't care if they just took We [love] Katamari and stuck Wii controls on it, I'd be sold. That was an awesome game. It's so very rare to hear quotes like 'It's no use running, Cow, I'm gonna F#@$in' roll you!' or 'Holy crap I just hit a mountain and lost the Taj Mahal' comingg out of people when they play games these days.

Wii Warm Up: Where do you shop?

Apr 2nd 2007 6:52PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Here in Australia, EBGames are basically a shrine to Microsoft, staffed by retards who have nought but contempt for the gaming community (a.k.a. their customers). I hate them with a passion, and have vowed never to cross their filthy threshold again.

That, and my local small franchise game store (called 'The Gamesmen') are both awesome, cheap, and run by gamers, so they get pretty much all my business. That and there's a new JB hifi store that's opened up recently, so they occasionally have some ridiculous good deals, and big Wii support.

Miyamoto calls out third parties

Mar 31st 2007 8:24PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Good call Shiggy. Honestly, developers are getting lazier and cheaper with their games these days.

FFS, guys, have some pride in yourselves and put some good programmers on the job.

Honestly, where did the stigma that only Nintendo games sell on nintendo systems come from? Isn't the broad range of vastly different games on the DS testament against that fact? The AAA titles on the gamecube that sold as well as all the Nintendo titles?

It's a big, captive market waiting to happen, guys. We may be nintendo fans, but we enjoy good games from other sources too!

Karaoke Revolution vs. SingStar: Which is tougher?

OH GOD, THE PAIN!

Sonic & Mario finally team up for a game

Mar 28th 2007 8:52AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I can only see this as being a good sign of things to come.

Seriously though - if this isn't gonna be the clincher that all but officially confirms Sonic showing up in Brawl, what else will?

Also - whoa! Sonic and Mario finally going toe to toe. This is like the title-fight people have been waiting 20 years for. Now, I'll finally be able to put an end to those primary schoolyard fights I had when I was 5.
