Sumioni: Demon Arts drawn to digital Vita release March 20

Mar 3rd 2012 11:46AM (Joystiq)
Digital was the right move for this. Can't believe they released this ad retail in Japan. $20 is still a little high for this game, but its definitely an improvement over $40

Sony VP in UK and Ireland talks Vita pricing, says bigger memory cards on the way

Feb 23rd 2012 1:34PM (Joystiq)
@ckyleburnett

Exactly what he said. For $20 you save your state for every game that will ever be made for the vita, and by that time other cards will be cheaper. Need more space for a few PSN titles? The 8gb is only $30.

People are complaining for the sake of complaining. No one is forcing you to buy the 32 gb card. What's funny is that these are the same people that buy iphones and ipods and ipads that charge an extra $100 for sometimes just 16 gb between models.

bank roll that money and bring this to the PS Vita!

Soulcalibur 5 DLC lets you buy bikinis and animal heads in Feb.

This has to be one of the worst excuses for dlc I have seen in awhile. These are all things that should have been included for free with the purchase of the game. For $60 you would think devs would be doing everything they could to make people feel theybare getting a great value. Then this crap just degrades the value.

Actually I take that back saints row did something similar with costume packs right at launch. Ugh....gaming industry! You're letting us all down.

Unit 13 is a portable shooter from SOCOM dev, 'right around Vita launch'

This has to be one of the worst 3rd person camera views I have ever seen. You literally can't see directly in front of you. They should just make it first person if they are going to get that close.

Zipper, you created one of the greatest shooters ever, and now you can't even make a good one.

Nintendo, EA, Sony sponsor Internet censorship bill [update]

Nov 18th 2011 2:03PM (Joystiq)
I think everyone here is being sensational. If you don't like the bill then do something about. Write your representative and let them know why this is a bad idea. Chances are this will never get passed anyway.

I think it is ludicrous people are saying they won't be purchasing anything from Sony, Nintendo, or EA again. If you are that easily offended you may want to stop buying any product from any company because at some point or another they have all done something shady.

Never forget these companies employ hundreds of thousands of people and yet only a handful make these decisions. If you stop buying products from them it only hurts the person making $15 and hour trying to feed his or her family. Buy products because they are good products not because of the political ideas of that company.

Next time you go to the grocery store be careful! That box of cereal could be from a CEO that hates the internet, wouldn't want to support him.

Sonic Generations review: Run-time compiler

Nov 2nd 2011 6:39AM (Joystiq)
I'm glad I am not the only one that thinks Sonic in the modern age is hard on the eyes because of the limitations of LCD. I have been arguing this with friends and they think I am crazy when I say Sonic is hard play on an LCD because it doesn't feel like the display can keep up. Throw on top of that some frame rate issues and it is only amplified.

CRT Televisions measured response times in nanoseconds, literally about 100,000 faster than the average response time of a LCD (about 2 milliseconds). For me that is why Sonic is not enjoyable anymore on a 2D plane. The game simply moves too fast for modern displays to keep up with everything on screen. Although Plasma displays come closest to the performance of CRT.

There may be those that aren't sensitive to this effect, however, and more power to you.

Battlefield 3 will employ Online Pass, required for multiplayer

Oct 14th 2011 4:04PM (Joystiq)
@Hi iTs SlayeR

I am with you on DLC and PreOrder bonuses, but fail to see how an online pass is greedy and cost you extra money. As long as you buy it new it's free.

But day one DLC and all the Preorder exclusives need to stop they are doing nothing but tarnishing the game industry. If Robin is available day one for Arkham City for those that buy it at Best Buy, then put him in the game for everybody, even if that is a code that you only get for buying it new.

Battlefield 3 will employ Online Pass, required for multiplayer

Oct 14th 2011 3:57PM (Joystiq)
@HokieKC

Nobody is forcing you to do anything to play online. You have a choice if you want to play online, either buy the game new, WHICH IS WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO!!!, or buy the online pass after you stole or pirated the game. So stop being bums and pay for the game. Developers aren't making games for charity, and if you want more games from them you need to buy from them.

It's funny everytime this comes up you can tell who buys games new and who pirates or buys used all the time. If you buy the game new, no matter the price, you will be fine.

Batman: Arkham City review: A world of difference

Oct 14th 2011 2:00PM (Joystiq)
@KungFuChaosNinja DLC wasn't as big a part of Arkham Asylum as it will be for Arkham City. So the GOTY edition for Arkham City will have far more content. Arkham Asylum GOTY did have Joker challenges and 4 more challenges included.

As for enjoying the present. I am! ICO Collection, Rochard, and soon Battlefield 3 and Uncharted 3! Before you say anything about GOTY for UC3, I could care less about it because if it is like the last one it will feature mostly multiplayer content that I don't care about.

In other words I have the time and the patience to wait for the better edition at a far cheaper price.
