Batman: Arkham City review: A world of difference

Oct 14th 2011 9:06AM (Joystiq)
Is it wrong that I want to wait for the GOTY Edition with all of the DLC included?

The beta and Battlefield 3

Oct 10th 2011 8:11PM (Joystiq)
I agree with this article! Dice and EA should have had this Beta out months ago or just said because of time restraints we have decided to bypass the open beta.

It is comforting to hear you say they have implemented changes that makes the game feel more in line with previous entries, but that only further makes this beta misleading as you said.

@Xoonaka Mushroom Wars is a very underappreciated game. People should definitely check it out.

Eufloria review: Fight the flowers that be

I've always have a soft spot for tower defense games (come on pixeljunk where's the sequel to Monsters?) Even though this is a bit more RTS influenced I am still giving it a go. For $7.99 as a Plus member it should offer a lot of value at that price.

Service helps users opt out of EULA class-action prevention

Oct 5th 2011 5:23PM (Joystiq)
Class action does more damage to the market than it does good for those that get payouts, and the only true victor are lawyers. That's why you see so many crappy lawyer commercials. They are all trying to drum up class action suits to make more money, not for you but for them.

I believe in the right to sue, but I would rather vote with my dollar instead. If you don't like the work conditions at Wal-Mart first sell all your stock you may have, stop shopping there regardless of discount, and look for a new job. If people did that instead it would have been far more successful and probably forced Wal-Mart to actually change it's policies. Instead they give everyone $700 and lawyers millions more and call it good.

El Shaddai $37 today on Amazon, Deus Ex $40 all week

Sep 26th 2011 2:58PM (Joystiq)
El Shaddai is the perfect example of why there needs to be tiered pricing in games. I'm not sure what criteria works best but there is no way a game like El Shaddai demands the same price tag as Battlefield 3, Arkham City, Assassin's Creed, etc. It actually hurts it's sales being at $60, although I bet the feeling is they will come across as being a poor game at a lower price.

Perhaps AAA titles (which refers to the games budget) should only be $60 with everything else being $40. Whatever. There just needs to be pricing tier in place to accommodate for different budget games. So when the next quirky game comes along more people will be willing to buy into it.

PS3 Blu-ray 3D support pops out in October

Sep 1st 2010 3:43PM (Joystiq)
As of this week you can get a 50" Samsung 3D Plasma, a 3D blu ray player, 2 glasses and a movie all for $1500. That is actually pretty inexpensive entry into 3D. In fact it is only $200 more than Panasonic's G20 by itself and that isn't even 3D.

I keep hearing 3D is expensive but I find the pricing of the 3D TVs to be in line with or actually less than last years high end models. Now the 3D glasses on the other hand are absurd in their pricing, and it is crazy there is only one title (Cloudy with a Chane of Meatballs) that you can buy since 3D tvs hit the market (March).
