Valkyria Chronicles 2 review: big strategy, war and drama in a handheld package
Sep 3rd 2010 3:23PM (Joystiq)To all you naysayers, this sequel far outstrips the original in just about ever aspect. The only thing the ps3 version had going was the graphics, engine, and scale. With the creative mechanics introduced in vc2, vc3 should be nothing short of amazing. Heres hoping for p3 + vc2 fusion.
Valkyria Chronicles 2 review: big strategy, war and drama in a handheld package
Sep 3rd 2010 3:14PM (Joystiq)II is a much better game when it comes to "scout/Alicia rushing". Not only is there multiple maps, forcing you to split up your limited deployment of ~6 members, but also the enemies themselves don't allow for this kind of gameplay.
Much to my surprise and dismay. Throughout most of the game, there are these "mini bosses" that really require several units/tank to take out- no headshots bonus. And their interception fire is so deadly-think Selvaria deadly-, you really need to strategize, or you'll be seeing a lot of bodies all in the same spot...
Also, the APC is capable of carrying 2+ units into the battlefield, although FML when the apc dies... So glad there is no more permanent death...
With the exception of commands- 8 cp for 1 order? no tnx bai- snv 2 fixed everything I had complaints about in 1, within the limitations of the psp. It is a much, much better game. I can't wait for 3.
