FF 9 Was definitely the last RPG I played that had a really good story/setting that was worth the purchase alone.
Not did I wouldn't care about Hope's possible death, but actually it's the first time I really wished that one of the main characters to die in a game. That was one of the few acomplishment FFXIII has earned.
I only played TM:Black and I enjoyed it a lot back in the days.
I played the demo of the reboot last week and was very surprised that this game was not released like 2-3 years after Black because they didn't try to improve the series at all or so.
Great for hardcore fans, but other than that I think at that price (It was supposed to be digital only if I remember) they should've put a lot more effort into the game.
"Q4 2011 it will be guys" "Opps finnally it'll be early 2012" "Not so early as we shoot for Q2 2012 guys"
2 months later "Well, you know what? We are revolutionizing our systems so we now expect holiday 2012, but it'll be one hell of a game you know!"
I'm really pissed even if we were all expecting it... They should've said Q4 2012 from the beginning so the only thing that could've happen is a earlier release than expected.
Every sports game should allow you to do that. I'm always more than annoyed of being forced to hear those "pop/rock/etc." songs in those kind of games.
Plus the game feature something called "harmonix" if I remember the name right, which remix you songs (yeah your customs imported songs) according to your in-game performance, see "tricky" sound effect seen in previous SSXs when you are on an insane combo and such.
Yeah at least they announce it months before the release, and I must admit it's probably a good idea to bring EVE players into Dust.
But I find it weird they put this exclusively on PS3 knowing they have issue with broadcasting a lot of data through the PS Network. BF3 actually is only 12 vs 12 because of this issue on consoles (at least that's what DICE told in an interview I read post-release).
The more I think about it the more I believe it's probably good that Dust include this feature, but, "only" because it'll be console exclusive. If it would release on PC as well I would still think it'll be a bad idea to easily accomodate players to use M/KB on cosoles.
Anyway like I stated before, I'm pretty sure Dust will be like all of those games full of good ideas and intentions but lacking time/money/skilled devs to polish it and make it a great game.
And on a side note I've been pretty lucky with my playthrough of Skyrim, I didn't encounter a lot of bugs (and only patched the week of release), but, I played on PC.
Firstly, I never thought this conversation would go so far :p , I never meant to annoy you in any way, sorry if I did.
So, I think we cannot compare Kinect to anything like Dust, because even if Kinect did sell a lot, I doubt owners of that accessory use it regularly, in fact I believe a lot of those are used a few times a year.
All I wanted to explain is that in no way the majority of Dust players (even hardcore gamers coming from EVE or not).will use a KB/M to play this FPS on consoles. I might be wrong on this, but I doubt I am.
So given only the minority will use that, those who won't will have an "unfair" handicap even if they have to option to not have it.
To say "it's their problem, they just have to use it if they don't want the hadicap" is not right IMO, because for most console gamers (that are going to play on a regular basis, compared to Kinect players who "I think" rarely use it) it will be too annoying to modify they living room setup for just one game.
SSX demo available now on Xbox 360, later today on PS3
