PSN 'welcome back program' includes a free download, 30 days free PlayStation Plus, Qriocity

@macheez

Extensive identity theft protection paid from their pocket for me. (Lifelock, etc.)

Admit their past security was poor at best

And an Apology

Some PSN services to return this week, full services 'within this month'

Only thing I got out of this was that they were never prepared for such a security compromise in the first place. I feel like this showed how crappy of a job they were doing in the first place, kind of makes them even worse off...

But what was that in the first comment? Free free identity theft program enrollment? That actually sounds worth something, please let me deal with a DIFFERENT company to help protect my personal information as Sony obviously cannot handle it.

What I really can't believe are the people who think this honestly makes anything better. Sony throws a bone and people just eat it up. This doesn't change the fact that Sony's lackluster security got them burned.

I won't be surprised if in a months time we see another breach of security. I'm sure their 'improvements' (which they funny enough will not specify on) aren't going to be much.

"Yeah just throw another Neatgear router at the WAN connection... Those hackers will never know what with them."

@PointlessPuppies

For someone who doesn't have time to argue with me you sure leave long comments. Just the fact that passwords are transmitted in clear text is dumbfounding in itself. If I had known that before I wouldn't have ever signed up for PSN.

And of course there's mo pleasing me, they can't become un-hacked, their reputation is stained forever.

@ForeverAndEver

One mistaken that got all my personal information stolen is sadly one mistake too many. I'm not here to argue I'm just saying how I feel on the situation.

Someone out there now knows a lot more about me then I'd like, or potentially could give them information to someone else even. I see this as a threat that Sony can't simply make me feel better about it with gifts and good will.

If I wanted proper compensation I'd consult Google, they know what my personal information is worth probably.

That was a joke by the way.

@ForeverAndEver

I couldn't care less about the history of Sony and what they've done for gaming... The cold hard fact is that they were compromised and my information was stolen. I don't think I'll be easily trusting them with sensitive information going forward from here. I'm interested to see what security measures they implement though.

You're ashamed people are doubting them? Hey have you read the news about a lot of peoples information being stolen from them? Because Yeah... I'd doubt them a bit after that.

@ForeverAndEver

Nope not crazy, just realistic. All of my personal information was stolen, so you give me some useless service free for a month? I somewhat value my personal information a bit more than just that.

I don't want a crappy goodwill package. I want a promise that my information will be better protected in the future... With proof.
