Xbox Live users report Gamerscores dropping to zero, MS aware of the issue [Update: potential fixes]

Mar 13th 2012 10:49AM (Joystiq)
This happened to me an hour ago. I fired up my console and started playing Forza 4 (a game I'm 90% through in the exhaustingly long career, and only have one achievement left) - a 5G achievement popped for visiting the message center or something. Confused, I checked my gamerscore to see that sure enough, it was just 5G, a drop of over 110,000.

I called support and they said they were working on it. Worryingly, the sign out and sign back in again thing isn't working for me...

Coming soon to Xbox Live: Defenders of Ardania, DOA5 demo, more

Mar 6th 2012 10:58AM (Joystiq)
I read over at Major Nelson's place that the DOA5 demo is US/Canada only. Why is that? And any ideas on when the rest of the world will get it?

Forza 4 update raising level cap to 999 tomorrow

Mar 5th 2012 5:52PM (Joystiq)
I;ve been at level 150 for some time. I have completed 65% of the events and haven't earned anything from levelling up since I have hit the cap. That was maybe 30 gameplay hours ago. It's nice that it's being raised. At least I can earn some decent money again while I grind through the events and have a hope of buying the DLC cars that come out so frequently.

Forza Horizon spun off by Playground Games

0:12 - 0:19 was like Vanishing Point. I was confused after that.

PSA: 'Gun-like' Avatar items disappearing from XBLM on Jan. 1

Dec 23rd 2011 12:31PM (Joystiq)
@iceytoa1
My thoughts exactly. There was most definitely a comprehensive list of things avatars can't have or do when avatars made their first appearance on our dashboards. And weapons were definitely on that list.

I actually thought MS had had a change of heart when the Lancer and Hammerburst made an appearance. I guess it must've been an oversight.

Gears of War 3 adds 'Fenix Rising' map pack on Jan. 17

Dec 21st 2011 10:28AM (Joystiq)
I assume that if you prestige it still counts as a level 100 for the Seriously 3.0 achievement. I am nearly level 100 myself.

I don't suppose there's any news on what maps might feature? A couple of old favourites and three new ones would be nice. I'd like to see Grindyard again and perhaps Nowhere.

Gears of War 3: RAAM's Shadow DLC Review

Dec 20th 2011 2:55AM (Joystiq)
@drballsey

I have also played through it a couple of times, with three other people, and we saw none of this either. It seems to me that it is the people that DID encounter glitches and inconsistencies that are in the minority.

I thought this DLC was great. It looked absolutely fantastic, in fact I wish more of the main game had been set in such crisply and beautifully lit indoor areas. The switching between COG and locust not only a good way of switching up the gameplay but also a good way of telling the story. The battles were all unique in some way, and not once did I see a locust simply appear out of mid air, freeze, or get stuck anywhere.

Gears of War 3 'Horde Command' DLC detailed by X-Play

@The Tim
The season pass has been available since launch. You can buy it at any time, but obviously, you have got a decision to make before November 1st. I have never failed to buy any Gears DLC at launch so I knew it would only save me money. And the liquid metal skins are great!

@cleopatrudo
Surely they must be available for all game modes. Although they have not mentioned otherwise, I can't imagine for a second they are horde only.

Gears of War 3 'Horde Command' DLC detailed by X-Play

@Mr Hett
I don't have a problem with day one DLC. All the time and effort that went into this game could have made it cost more at release, had all the content been packaged with it. Releasing it as DLC at least means the entry price is reasonable and and if you want more, it is optional. I think a lot of publishers will follow this approach as development costs spiral. Far from being greedy, it is a good way of keeping the basic price down I think. It depends how you look at it.
