I'm not sure you quite understand the level of investment in, or the costs involve in the maintenance of, Xbox Live. It is far larger, far more secure, far more rich in content and services than it ever was. Far more so than PSN. It is a premium service, and a premium service requires a premium. Payment for goods and services forms the basis of our economy and our society. If you don't like it you could always move to some barren communist wasteland and live like a peasant.

It actually looked a little rough to me, when you get into the actual racing. Way too dark, and a bit rough, i.e lacks anti-aliasing. But then, I am using an LED TV. Everything looks very very dark. I have to turn most games' brightness/gamma all the way up, and that option seems to be lacking in the demo. Hopefully it would solve both grievances to some extent.

This is still a must-buy for me, and I think it still outshines GT5 even in the graphics department. Sorry to bring up Forza vs GT5, but GT5 was a big disappointment for this life-long GT fan after a 6 year wait. Forza rules.

Yeah! They should totally do that again. I'd love to see a Gears of War character. Marcus or Anya would be good.

It's good to finally see a themed dashboard instead of the shadowy light grey and green affair that we've seen exclusively until now. Assuming that is a theme and not a giant, ubiquitous advert. I get bored very easily with interfaces (and I'm a professional interface designer!) and I was worried they had abandoned this aspect. I guess the new themes simply constitute a background and a custom "panel" colour, eschewing the friends list backgrounds etc. Hopefully that means they'll be cheaper. 160msp seems fair. At least to me.

What I really want is a 3D that uses Kinect to slightly move the POV camera with my head movements. i.e if I slightly lean left or right, I can "peek" around corners, see the sides of an object etc. I think this could be a powerful effect if used in a subtle way and not made into a gimmick. And it doesn't need a $2000 TV or silly glasses, just a relatively inexpensive peripheral that lives quietly next to your TV, that many of us already own.

Whenever I watch one of these I always end up thinking -

"I reckon I could do that!"...
"Well maybe not"...
"Okay definitely not"...
"I literally have no idea what he is talking about"...

Well, as I have said, I hope the ranking system is not the exponential madness it was before or this will be even harder Than Seriously 2.0. I did at least achieve that.

I still never got my wings. I think I am level 67 or so. Despite playing Gears 2 from day one, several times a week, sessions that lasted into the small hours of the morning, countless solo horde sessions, playing all weekend every bonus xp weekend. Still neither me, nor any of my friends came close to a level that surely was only really possible in 99.9% of cases by relentless, tireless boosting or cheating. Crazy. I have other games to play and a job to hold down, you know?

Hopefully they won't be so crazy with the ranking system in Gears 3. And I dread Seriously 3.0 being 100,000,000 or somthing stupid.

I've been hoping for a Kinect Sports sequel. I hope it has baseball though. That is the one thing I miss from Wii Sports.
