Perhaps you missed the podcast where Griffin, the reviewer, said he probably wouldn't have finished the game if he wasn't assigned to do it.

How can a game that is good, but you had to pay me to finish it, be justified on a GOTY list?

I respect Joystiq for having the balls to do something like this even though there's always a Nintendo fan ready to freak out somewhere. This isn't an all inclusive list, there were no DS, 3DS, PSP, Android, or iOS games either. You don't see people complaining about that and I LOVED Jetpack Joyride.

It was a tough year, some games just weren't good enough.

I need to find this game somewhere. I'm afraid it's going to get harder and harder to find.

I think it works fine, and who cares who's list comes out first? Joystiq's is the only one that matters. And with "The Best of the Rest" lists sprinkled in between, I think we will be just fine content wise.

Plus we all still have a lot of games to play.
