Mar 27th 2012 7:12PM (Joystiq)Microsoft =/= Gaming
If they drop the ball on the gaming end then Sony or Nintendo or somebody else will pick it up and run with it. I'm fine with different consoles providing different experiences. I game on my iPhone, Vita, 3DS, 360, Wii, and PS3. All provide different experiences. All are good at what they do. But I also watch Community and Awake and Mad Men and The River on my Xbox or PS3. Traditional gaming-only consoles are dead. That's fine. Even Nintendo's on board with that. But the new consoles are better. I don't want for high-quality games to play. The King is dead. Long live the King!

Mar 27th 2012 6:32PM (Joystiq)It isn't, though. I don't play games less because my Xbox can also stream movies. It's just that I do both of those things with the same machine now. Now my whole family has a use for a console. My kids will grow up knowing how to use all of the available features. We just canceled our comcast cable service because Netflix and HuluPlus are cheaper and we save $40 a month. For things like Mad Men or Breaking Bad we just buy a season pass on iTunes and we still end up ahead.
