Glad I got my 2010 Jetta SportWagen TDI a few weeks ago - before the cost-cutting began. Fantastic build materials, fun to drive, plenty of utility, killer MPG. An amazing all-around package.

I considered the Forester, but ended up with a VW TDI Jetta SportWagen. About the same cargo capacity, better interior quality, more fun to drive, and *far* better gas milage (real world 45 mpg highway). If you don't need AWD, the VW TDIs really trounce the Subies in my opinion.

I've become a TDI believer.

Heh. Another "Apple Sucks" article from the "Apple Sucks" press. No big surprise here. The PR departments for Verizon, Motorola, HTC and Google are certainly working overtime this week.

What better way to sew the seeds of FUD than to send pics of your competitor's broken device to every gizmo blog and two-bit tech journalist you can find?

Not surprisingly, I haven't seen any articles entitled "10 Reasons Not to Buy the HTC EVO" or "BEWARE: Throwing a Motorola Droid on a Concrete Floor Breaks It Good."

BTW, my iPhone 4 is perfect. No yellow screen. No reception problems. And I haven't bounced it off the concrete 3 or 4 times until it broke.

Sorry everyone for my erroneous thread. I just realized while I updated Pandora in iTunes and synced my iPhone (twice), the Pandora app on my iPhone was still not the latest version.

I updated it directly from the iPhone and now background music in Pandora works fine. I'm not sure why iTunes didn't push the updated app to my phone.

I updated Pandora to the latest version of Pandora (3.1), installed iOS 4, and have a phone that supports multitasking (3GS). Yet I can't keep Pandora playing music when I switch to another app.

When I relaunch Pandora, it resumes playback as if it never stopped, but it's not playing for me when it isn't the active app.

I have the 3GS.

Nope, double tapping doesn't work for me either. It will bring up the also-running apps (in my case right now, Safari and Mail), but switching to either kills the music.

OK, so apparently I'm doing this multitasking thing wrong. I have iOS 4 installed on my iPhone, as well as the latest version of Pandora. I open Pandora and start playing music. I then hit my Home button to go to another app (say, email), expecting the music to keep playing. It doesn't. The music stops.

What am I doing wrong?

If so, I hope VW sticks with the geriatric designers, because the new Focus interior looks like complete crap. Complete over-the-top sci-fi garbage.

I'll take VW elegant simplicity any day. The VW interior looks like a nice Apple device. The Focus interior is that blinged-out homebuilt PC case with spiders and dragons and neon lights. Barf.

Hate the flat-slab grille. I can't decide which front end is uglier - this Explorer's or the hideous new Pilot's (and I'm the happy owner of an '04 Pilot). I'd rather see something with more finesse, like the new Taurus grille.

Dumping the sea of chrome was a good move though...
