Apr 2nd 2012 10:44AM (Joystiq)The PS3 won't fade away like Nintendo systems when the successor comes out, so that is probably how it will be done. Not with PS4 titles but with PS3 titles as the system ages over the next few years.
And you aren't really forced to buy both games on most of these cross play capable games. In fact, many give you the other version for free at this point.
The Vita needed an option like this. Incorporating existing titles with PS3 owners gives those people an incentive to go portable as well. As long as they don't stop the exclusives, which they don't seem to be doing, I'm happy.
