They didn't "lose money" on used sales. In a fictional economy where used sales don't exist they may have made more money, but people can sell stuff.
Do developers/publishers really think they can pull this artificial line of thinking over on people? I like to think we're smart enough to deny this kind of thing.

@BananaBoat Seems right to me, the transliteration of "wonder" or "wander" would be ワンダー, if you chop the last character off you get the name on the Japanese box "Wanda".
They probably changed it because "Wanda" has a lot of connotations in English that it doesn't in Japanese (girl's name and so on)
