Engadget's recession antidote: win an OCZ Summit Series 60GB SSD!

to fix world economy, give away more ssds

Sanyo's 120Hz PLV-Z3000 1080p projector: $3,295 for USers

Sep 18th 2008 5:41PM (Engadget)
Seems like the PLV-Z2000 for $1900 (after rebates) is a better deal... then again, I'm not hard core enough to know what 5:5 pulldown means. =)

Lenovo slips out the new ThinkPad X301: new CPUs, 128GB SSD, still thin as hell

Aug 15th 2008 7:30PM (Engadget)
Yeah, no way that 2GB is the max. It will be interesting to see how the new Dell Latitude E4200 stacks up against this. Personally I would be happy to sacrifice the DVD drive for more weight savings.

Zune headed for Canada on June 13th!

How 'bout a real question instead of a flamewar...

Anyone know if Canadians will be able to get subscription music?

New Zunes get unboxed, reviewed, and Microsoft firms up plans

Nov 12th 2007 1:55PM (Engadget)
I've noticed the same. But to be fair, there are still some things the iPod does that Zune does not:

- portable HD
- games
- calendar
- contacts
- clock
- Audible books

Of course, if you use your music player primarly for, um, music, the advantages you mention seem to be more significant (IMO of course).

Bach sold millions in Microsoft stock in months before warranty announcement

Probably means he sold stock options (which have an expiry) and then used the gain to buy actual stock.

Video: the rumored Xbox 360 v2

@41 - "seems hard for me to believe that they would ditch the ones (including me) and upgrade 360s with a hdmi and just leave the current 360 users hanging"

Sigh. Once again, explain how they are leaving you "hanging". Your 360 does exactly what it promised it would do when you bought it. You'll still be able to download stuff from Live. You'll still be able to play all the games. If HDMI was so important to you that you feel left hanging without it, you shouldn't have bought a console without it.

$150 PlayStation 3 discount [update 1]

AX - You are partially correct... you definitely don't want to be applying for credit cards left right and center. However, if you don't have many applications on your recrod, why not go for this one? And since it is 0% APR for the first year, you won't be paying any monthly payments on it. Finally, hopefully anyone who does this will have the discipline to not spend any money they don't actually have :)

Forget the $99 HD-DVD player (see post above)... $49 HD-DVD here I come!
