I hate the fanboy wars because I like to consider myself an adult and as such I tend to respect other people's opinions. Fanboys are petulant children that believe their opinion to be absolute truth.

My save file is 10+MB on PS3 and for me the framerate only drops if I play for more than 2 hours continuously. Just restarting the game fixes it, well for two hours at least. It's annoying but manageable
