Video of Metal Gear Solid 4 demo is predictably awesome

Jul 24th 2007 5:52PM (Joystiq)
Uh, so anyone actually want to talk about what was in the trailer, as opposed to fanboy/anti-fanboy commentary?

+'s go to Ryan de Michigan, Jon, tommy, and deaftly for being like the ONLY people here to discuss the actual contents of the video.

Moving along:
The gameplay looks like it'll be really interesting, with well thought out additions to gameplay that do not otherwise mess up the already well-established formula. The triangle button controlled octocamo seems like it takes some of flaws out of having to switch in and out of the menu screen to change camo (although the option is still there) while weapon controls seem to have been tweaked out (did anyone else see the grenade arc indicator and flash back to every time they blew themselves up in a firefight in MGS2?) Finally, the option to go through the game shooting everything you see, first made possibly by the plethora of guns available in Snake Eater, seems to have been kept and expanded upon. I really like that.

Some people might argue that continuing the formula is a bad thing (i.e. more of the same), but personally metal gear games have always intrigued me and I'm really looking forward to it.

Red dots on Apple.com for the store in Clarendon VA on Tuesday, but as I was playing around with one an employee told me they had just gotten a fresh batch in.

Not your everyday waffles

Oh man, rhubarb? That's just amazing.

I had forgotten the amazingness that is rhubarb and must rediscover it this weekend. My Granana made some mean rhubarb pie, but the waffles above have opened my eyes to further amazing opportunities.

Inside story of the first iMac

Hey! I loved the puck mouse!

It was only derided because people refused to reposition their hands to use it. If you set the sensitivity high enough and just used your fingers to move it, it was actually quite comfortable.

But between not having two buttons and having to keep the sucker clean, I upgraded to an optical pretty quick on my lime one.

I only began READING this blog in anticipation of Halo 3.
