Fake Pokemon Yellow ends up on iOS App Store

Feb 20th 2012 7:11PM (Joystiq)
@A Sandwich Unfortunately, a bill like SOPA won't catch something like this, and it isn't required to catch something like this. Apple just needs a better process with apps that go into the app store, and things like this could be easily avoided.

How to play Xenoblade Chronicles if you live in America

Aug 19th 2011 8:24PM (Joystiq)
Exactly what I was thinking. I have HBC and GeckoOS myself and I already ordered Xenoblade from Europe, which was hard for me to find since I'm used to going to play-asia for Japanese imports. It's great being able to play some games that will never make it here, but some games like Tatsunoko vs. Capcom I have twice, one in Japanese and the other in English. Hopefully, NoA does localize Xenoblade, but I probably won't be getting the American version since the European one is already in English.

Game Arts founder Takeshi Miyaji passes away at 45

45?! He passed away so young. RIP. I loved Grandia and the music of that game.

Reggie demos Skyward Sword on Jimmy Fallon, says Wii U coming after April 2012

Jun 19th 2011 2:14AM (Joystiq)
I bet most of those audience members don't even play Zelda. I would say, man, if only I could have been there, but the game comes out in less than an hour here, so I guess it's not too bad...

Monolith Soft's Wii RPG Xenoblade localized this year -- for Europe

Mar 31st 2011 7:28PM (Joystiq)
You know... I tried Disaster: Day of Crysis when my Wii was able to play games from Europe and Japan, and to be honest, that game was not that good. I could really see why Reggie laughed when someone asked if they would bring Disaster state-side.

That being said, Xenoblade looks to be much better quality than Disaster, so I hope we see localization here.

NPD: Guitar Hero 3 is this generation's highest-grossing game

Mar 25th 2011 6:28PM (Joystiq)
Wasn't Wii Play like $10 or was that after a few weeks of its release? Either way, that definitely surprises me that Wii Play makes this list. It's the opposite of what Guitar Hero and Wii Fit are.

Chrono Trigger, Mega Man X coming to Virtual Console in Japan

Mar 25th 2011 3:10PM (Joystiq)
Too bad Chrono Trigger came out on DS recently, or I would be really excited for it on virtual console. I'm definitely waiting for a US release of Mega Man X though.

SpongeBob SquigglePants migrates to 3DS this May

Mar 24th 2011 2:36PM (Joystiq)
Which reminds me... where is the WarioWare game for 3DS? I really want to see what kind of ideas that team can come up with on this system, especially if they somehow implement the AR cards.

Dreamcast Collection now on Steam(cast)

Mar 5th 2011 7:20PM (Joystiq)
@Scuffles

Skies of Arcadia was one of the best RPGs of its time and definitely one of my favorite DC games. If they released that on Steam, I would be all over that.

Street Fighter characters recreated in Smackdown vs. Raw 2011

Jan 3rd 2011 6:40PM (Joystiq)
Is this really news? My old college roommate used to recreate Street Fighter, Mario, and other characters using the create a wrestler mode in various wrestling games for Gamecube. And then he would play the SF/Mario/etc. music on the stereo while playing wrestling matches. It was kind of ridiculous when I watched him, but in hindsight, he probably made the game from a 5.0 to a 9.0 with great music, and an awesome roster of characters. It was kind of interesting seeing Charlie Nash vs Mario vs Bowser vs Cloud Strife in a ring.
