Retrospective follows the 2003 theft of Half-Life 2's code
Feb 21st 2011 9:23PM (Joystiq)"Everyone has the[ir] own version of morality."
I believe what #ThePenIsMightier is referring to is the difference between Malum Prohibitum (conduct that constitutes an unlawful act only by virtue of statute) and Malum in se (conduct assessed as sinful or inherently wrong by nature, independent of regulations governing the conduct).
In all reality, Valve was not in the slightest hurt by any of this, really. What was leaked was only the source code, and NOT any playable version of the game itself; certainly not the finish product, anyway.
Regardless, as a PC game "Half-Life 2" was going to hit the Torrents on launch day anyhow, as it continues to be even today. Valve should have appreciated this fan and hired him to help secure their network in the same way that Microsoft did when the original Xbox was hacked.

"Considering that Intel is two-thirds owned by state-sponsored Israeli hedge funds, would it be fair to say that the Jews stole Offset Software's IP and game engine?

Dec 9th 2010 11:43AM (Joystiq)Over the past two decades, attendance of religions services among England's Anglo-Saxon (i.e. White) population has dropped to the lowest they have ever been in its history.
The same, however, cannot be said of the U.K.'s Jewish and Muslim population (who promote monogamous relationships and oppose so-called "birth control,) and are two largest growing denominations in the U.K. today; much like the Black and Hispanic populations of The United States.
It's no wonder, then, that Muslim and Jewish voting blocks are quickly outnumbering White voters in the U.K.; the same as African- and Latin-Americans do in the U.S. today.
So, fine. Go ahead. Keep using your condoms and pills. But when you wake-up one morning and find your vote doesn't matter becuase it's outnumbered by a new ethnic or religious majority, just think of the "good times" those condoms and pills allowed you to enjoy.

Tomb Raider revealed by Square Enix in Game Informer
Dec 6th 2010 9:40AM (Joystiq)I agree, to some extent. However, past iterations were either obviously more comical in their attempt to be "grim" or simply appeared to be as such only because it was overstated.
If Crystal Dynamics has any sense of good judgment, they'll consider their competition (like "Uncharted") and take notes from the industry and whatever fan base they cited to justify the expense of development.
On another note, this Darrell Gallagher is a pinhead! "Forget everything you knew about Tomb Raider?" That should read "everything you know," unless the blame is on JoyStiq... and that wouldn't surprise me either!

Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars deploys Feb. 15
Nov 12th 2010 1:38PM (Joystiq)I see you can't appreciate (or aren't aware of) personalities here on Joystiq.com. Why don't you go hassle "Uncle Jessie" about his over use of hairspray, you pinhead!
Also, don't forget you can watch 'The O'Reilly Factor' on Fox News Channels sister network, Sky TV, in the U.K and Europe.
Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars deploys Feb. 15
Nov 12th 2010 1:13PM (Joystiq)From a underfunded, over-budget, and underrated film on decades gone long, long ago, 'Star Wars' had at one time provided an outlet for millions of young Americans to identify with something ahead of their generations time. But now it's all for not, and for that, you are a pinhead.
No one want's know about the damn Clone Wars, George! Get over it already.

Nov 9th 2010 9:11AM (Joystiq)That would be another Liberal pinhead that continues to poison the well of the public sphere and pervert the youth of America and the world with gross and profane exploitation of the human body and sexuality.
Oh, but it's "trendy" so that exonerates it somehow.
