It means we don't know and Sony is sticking with their carefully crafted and evasive statement from the beginning of the month so that no matter which it is, they can say they were right.

Yep, this announcement is the exact same information they released at their press conference. I believe at that point it was phrased, "Until the end of the month to restore full functionality". So yeah, this isn't an update it's just Sony paraphrasing themselves.

I honestly tried to stop myself ... but it was too punny. In fairness, the acronym wasn't accurate. CERT would be the agency, CERTs would more precisely be the agents I suppose. ;)

Computer Emergency Readiness Team ... CERTS for short. I suppose being a newly created division they should have an excitingly fresh take on things.
