NPD's top 25 includes at least eight 3DS games

@superjoe

Honestly, I haven't heard anyone, fanboy or not, say the 3DS is still a "massive flop" for like.... half a year now. You might need to let it go.

@Roto13

Agreed. Only a physical copy counts as a "sale"? If so, I'm not sure what the point of a sales chart is in this day and age.

Sony incentivizes Vita Cross Play with free PS3 DLC, and vice versa

Feb 16th 2012 1:51PM (Joystiq)
Great news from Sony. Was hoping this was the way they were going to play it this way, but was holding my breath they weren't going to double-dip on this cross-play thing.

Nice move, Sony.

Sony spending $50 million on Vita marketing

Feb 13th 2012 3:37PM (Joystiq)
I've been as puzzled as other by the lack of Vita marketing up till now, but honestly there's a sort of logic to their marketing plan.

Sort of seems like they're letting early adopters get the Vita into the public eye before blowing a lot of money telling people what the device is. At least when the marketing blitz starts in earnest, people can say "Oh, I saw one of those on the train the other day".

An idea so crazy it just might work.

Vita's Frobisher Says and T@g detailed, free in Europe

I'll be honest, T@g actually seems like a kind of cool implementation of the Vita's capabilities. I work around the corner from IGN, so I'll be sure to cover their building.

PlayStation Vita's 25-game North American launch lineup, pricing laid bare

That launch line-up is no joke. Also glad to see memory card prices not as bad as feared. Overpriced, yes, but palatable.

"PlayStation 3: 218K (-3.5%) [Comes from press release statement math and known numbers.] "

Playstation had a price cut and went DOWN in sales? I can't imagine that's an accurate count...

PlayStation Home relaunches this fall with a questing system, themed districts

Aug 23rd 2011 12:35PM (Joystiq)
I'll be honest, I actually visit Home.

I fully understand people's complaints with it, especially regarding loading times, but I still find myself toodling around the different locations every once in a while, getting free items, trying out some of the games, and listening in on the occasional inane conversation.

The biggest problem I have with it is there is no "there" there, you sort of never knew what you were supposed to do, and nothing ever felt like it was a "can't-miss" experience.. The Killzone 3 "takeover" and games were a good implementation, and the Sodium 2 space points to a place where people can actually "game" in the environment, but it still seems like an idea that hasn't...quite... come to maturity yet.

Luckily, Sony seems to be paying attention and is continually mixing it up and trying to make it more compelling, so we'll see what this new update holds. Home is really a great idea, they just need to make it something other than curiosity for it to really fly.

That logo looks absolutely nothing like the logo for inFAMOUS.

Oh wait, yes it does.
