You're totally right...

...because the average gamer nowadays needs their hand held throughout the entire experience. Which makes sense, since you no longer see "harder" games being made (e.g. RE2) because they're just... oh-so hard to these guys! Sadly those guys just have to be the majority...

...which kind of sucks, because they totally changed the whole idea of being a casual gamer: instead of someone who just doesn't play often, it's now.. someone who not only doesn't play often, but is also too incompetent to understand the game's mechanics + not wanting to fix their mistakes (*points at GoW's "casual mode" -- just run-and-gun, man!). That's pretty pathetic.

Coincidentally I just popped in Demon's Souls not too long ago and spent two hours just fiddling around -- somehow cleared 1-1, 1-2 and 2-1 while reading up on a PvP build (as if I'm going to start PvP'ing again in that game, haha!). Take note that I haven't touched both games in months, especially DeS -- areas, mobs, bosses.. don't really remember much! Shield.. roll.. run.. backstabs.. getting killed by the 2nd & 3rd boss... learning my mistakes... HARD STUFF, MAN.

Bargain buy for sure. 100% it like every other non-MMO FF games I've touched...

...oh wait, I think DLC may prevent me from 100%'ing it!.

Fix: "Complete" / "INTERNATIONALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!" version bargain buy, for sure!

To end things because I honestly don't want to have some pointless discussion on the internet:

1. Yeah, I beat the game. Yes, I understood what was happening and why based on my knowledge of the language.

2. Yeah, your Japanese is probably better than mine (11 years staying in Japan vs. "lol" school Japanese + housing a Japanese exchange student). I could honestly care less, however, so sorry!

Taking Japanese in school was what made me learn it in the first place.

Try to actually look beneath the surface next time; the cheap shot was evaded rather easily.

@Lannden If it matters, I went from public to private for my middle & high school days.

I really wanted to take French, but I was persuaded to pick up another language because my brother was learning it -- someone wanted some variety!

...And another reason why I'm glad I took up Japanese as my foreign language back in middle and high school :)

Awesome game. Shame the NAs / EUs can't play it (or could they?!?!?!?!?)

So basically you get..

- A TE stick that's been re-colored
- A game that won't see any competitive play since TTT2 is around the corner (and if not re-balanced, all you'll see are Mishima and Ogre teams.. like in 2000s)

...and some other crap.

This is all coming from a company that dumbed down the Dark Souls CE as well (and apparently didn't provide enough copies -- glad I got one)..

@BFBeast666 FFXIII-2 IS a bargain buy, especially with the upcoming games (I'm looking at Dark Souls and BF3 -- the shooter will definitely make me feel proud for buying two 6950s for.. a damn good price!).

If anything, FFXIII's style could be summed up in a few words: run forward (scenes) and press X (fights). Oh, and very rarely you'll get those, "Oh, I actually have to think" fights (e.g. Vercingetorix), though I'm sure the majority scrubbed their way through those one with sheer-grinding (which is.. sad for them ^^;).

An awesome series that went downhill. Makes it even worse when the company blames an MMO (HAHA!) for tarnishing the FF line. If anything, FFXIII did.
