Is this what we call a "Sincere" apology these days? This idiot needs ot be banned. The fact is nothing he does now will revert what he did, and the victim is forever going to be labeled among the Eve online community. He'll never be safe from harassment. The video game community is notoriously bad for handling people who suffer from depression, and now someone who's openly suicidal is going to be a target.
If CCP honestly cares the least they can do is ban this guy.
@Dunraven Did we read the same post by Gabe? Wait, we're talking about Gabe at PA right? Because he said he loved it, he just doesn't like PvP so the endgame won't be for him.
@Joaquin Crowe Killstealing? I don't get this. How do you "Killsteal" in an MMO? The deal has always been whoever tags it gets the mob. That's what it's like in every major MMO.
"As repeated time and time again, the issue is that female characters are sexualized while male characters are idealized. Sexual fantasy versus power fantasy. Either both males and females are idealized with power in mind, or with sex in mind, or both at once, but there should not be such a double standard between the two. "
Just curious, have you seen the males in this game? They're highly slim and yet physically fit in appearance. The complaint I here when people mention just how objectified men are is that women aren't attracted to bulky men, they're attracted to slim, physically fit men.
Well, in TERA, the men ARE slim and physically fit. Women can't have it both ways. Which version of men is sexualized and which version isn't?
In regards to customization: Let me make a fat guy, and I'll start complaining about your inability to make a fat chick.
" and this is another black mark against TERA in terms of mainstream acceptance"
Good, the death of WoW was a direct result of mainstream acceptance. The game went down hill when the soccer moms started outnumber the hardcore players.
The entire Elin debacle is shameful to me. People are pathetic for getting so up in arms about them. But then again, people are pathetic for talking about "Objectifying Women (or men)" in MMO's too.
The Good: Questing Graphics Art Style Combat Extensive UI features "Story Questlines"
The bad: Missing or hard to find/use UI features Soooooo much green in the first 22 levels. The OST. Like, serously, this is my biggest complaint. MMO's tend to have really good music, and Aion had reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallly good music. Sadly the music in TERA is kind of bland. Velika was nice, but everywhere else? Just meh. That's disappointing. Music is one of the most effective ways to build an environment in a game. Bad graphics can easily be overlooked if the music draws you in, but a game with good graphics and bad music can feel fake and boring.
I hope the music gets better, else I don't think I'll be listening to the OST very much. Alternatively, I'll listen to it often unlike the Aion or WOTLK OST's which I am unable to listen to because they make me want to resubscribe uncontrollably.
