PlayStation 3 gets Amazon Instant Video ... kinda out of nowhere

Apr 3rd 2012 2:15PM (Joystiq)
@kcswanko Yup, Sony PR is awful. Seems like they'll never change, even though they have examples like MS to learn from.

Besides not building hype for this, the complete silence when games disappear from the Vita is insane. Just apologize at the very least, but nope, they pretend nothing happened while forums and news articles rage about it.

PSA: Sony's Music Unlimited service now on Vita

@Dance Mofo

No, they've had trials for the cheap version also. That's how I got started on it through my PS3. They also have Unlimited Premium trials but that's not how mine started, and I had to upgrade to Premium because I couldn't access much on my cheap trial.

Also, for fun I checked the top 10 MP3s at Amazon and their all there. So I have a hard time believing he had the premium trial if he couldn't find anything good.

They should probably just forget the $3.99 level as it certainly didn't make a good impression on me when I first did the trial.

Sounds like you were using the $3.99 level of service which is pretty limited. To really access the library you'll need to pay for the $10 version.

Since I upgraded to premium I've really been impressed with the huge selection. I was looking randomly to see if some the latest music I was interested on Amazon was on Music Unlimited and I kept finding it there also.

I'm waiting for the Music Unlimited app, which was promised for launch. They better make it so that it can stream music in games, though.

iCade 8-bitty is your iOS device's new wireless NES controller

Feb 13th 2012 1:15PM (Joystiq)
It's like a NES and Atari merged, with fake wood paneling adding a nice touch.

Still not something I'll probably get for iOS games, but definitely could use it with some PC/Mac drivers.

This is a pretty cool (and long awaited) feature update, but who could tell with all that snark. BTW, hold down the power button to reset next time.

PSN maintenance starts this Thursday at 9am EST, through Friday morning

Your user generated missions are a go!
From the story: "Doesn't include gameplay."

Not sure why people keep assuming the maintenance hits online when it's pretty much always for backend stuff such as the Store, Account Management and Registration.

Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational requires 'play ticket' to tee off online [update]

@Roto13
Because Destructoid saw both a game and an online pass for sale in the store. Obviously with both things in the store for sale you have to buy both... or something. :\

Agreed, it makes no sense. Consoles sell digital games and passes, yet why conclude now that digital games don't get the passes?

Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational requires 'play ticket' to tee off online [update]

@Hoops
Destructoid updated the article and are now apologizing.

What a dumb jump to conclusions when they didn't know anything. They didn't even buy a digital copy to test this, all they did was go to the store and saw a digital copy and an online pass next to each other. That doesn't prove anything about what the digital copy needs to play online.
