Games aren't horribly overpriced for what they are, sales maybe once in a while, pretty sure paid demos were a limited thing (And that they were going in the direction if Dead Rising 2)
For investors worries it feels mixed. I mean I get they want new titles but those often flop hard or become the next "Release 200 sequels" I mean most all games are not original they are either a sequel, prequel, or spin off, the newer titles sometimes don't last or don't do as well so it's ot surprising all game developers go back to older titles.
On top ogf that a good portion of blame could also fall on the developers for not thinking new ideas.
