I'm offended by the allegation that Half Life 2 would have been "boring" without the gravity gun. Half Life 2 is a perfect PC shooter and the gravity gun is only the cherry on top.
Favorite Halo memory: On my twelfth birthday I got an Xbox and a copy of Halo: CE. I brought both over to my buddy's house where his friend came over and took the controller away from me. I was forced to have the entire Halo campaign, which, of course, featured one of the most staggering plot twists in any video game, ruined in front of my eyes. To top it off watching them play for 10 hours straight gave me a massive migraine headache and I vomited for the next 12 hours... Come to think of it, this might be my least favorite memory! >
A frustrating auto aim system and turning one of the industry's most hardcore bad ass female video game characters into a whiney, unlikeable, existential loser with "daddy issues" stemming from one of her superior officers is enough for me to give that game a big fat thumbs down. Seriously they stripped all bad assitude that was established for Samus and turned her into an obedient lap dog for the male gender. Team Ninja just keeps on maintaining that classy image with or without Itagaki.
Because, it's like, you know, when Modern Warfare does something no one else can do it.
Maybe the reason it's cliched is because it's within the realm of believability. Or would you rather have vampires and werewolves invading the US? Come to think about it, that sounds like a good idea! :D
@Abriael I think your oversight is that Microsoft isn't trying to ban swastikas. They allow it in their games. They're banning the association to the symbol. You're not going to be using that symbol unless you're associating yourself to it and realistically speaking the only people who are going to be trying to use the symbol on Xbox Live are people trying to offend others.
Xbox Live is a private service marketed as a service and a network that anyone can jump into and simply enjoy themselves. It is not only Microsoft's right but also their duty to stop people from trying to impede on another's right to do so.
Censorship is bad but you are no champion for decrying Microsoft for trying to be concerned about their customer's satisfaction. It's perfectly within their free market right to go to these lengths to protect the user experience they want to supply to their consumers. Saying otherwise would be uncapitalistic and, from your free speech cooing, I would think it's a safe bet to say that you, sir, are no communist.
