Atlus sends mystery image, asks '???'

Jan 24th 2009 12:20AM (Joystiq)
They're announcing P4 costumes for LBP! That's obviously the shadow of Sackboy Naoto.

Joyswag Holidaze: Lumines Supernova (PSN)

Dec 24th 2008 1:10PM (Joystiq)
I'd give it to my roommate, but he doesn't "get" Lumines.

So, considering I've had a hard three months of unemployment (My own Xmas miracle happened and I've found myself with two jobs just the week before Xmas), I'd give this to myself as my own "From Santa, To Peter" gift.

'Bob's Game' dev confines self in Nintendo protest

It's because I'm a panda bear, isn't it?

You people never want my kind around here...

'Bob's Game' dev confines self in Nintendo protest

Dec 22nd 2008 2:00PM (Joystiq)
A guy locking himself in his bedroom for days on end, having his food delivered to himself... I dunno, I think Nintendo Japan would tell Reggie that if this was a protest, then there's quite a number of Japanese youths "protesting".

Teasing aside, I do side with Bob on the issue that Nintendo didn't meet the deadline for approval or rejection. I could care less if his game was made or not, but they did have an obligation to give him an answer by a set date.

I'd more suggest going through legal channels, since such a deadline would've been part of a legally binding form he would have signed for the approval process, and Nintendo wouldn't have many worthwhile excuses for avoiding the stipulations of their own contracts. But this means money, so I guess Bob had issues there.

All I can say is that if things end up in his favor, he better have produced a fantastic game, or the community will jump on him, as we tend to do in these underdog cases where the drama leads us to idolize the victim and then we later feel cheated when the final product is not the second coming our imaginations have made it out to be. (see: Haze, Space Giraffe, Too Human, etc.)

See Burnout's Jansen 88 Special fly into action

Dec 22nd 2008 12:48PM (Joystiq)
I honestly can't wait for the DLC to come out. And considering all the freebies we got (Bikes being the biggest), paid content is totally cool by me.

The only thing I'm a bit anxious about is the possibility that they'll eventually pack all the paid DLC together in one Value Pack with a discount price (been seeing this often in the PS3 Store). But knowing me, zipping around in movie themed cars will take immediate priority over sale prices.

Minter: Microsoft 'sitting on' nearly finished Gridrunner for XBLA

Dec 16th 2008 4:25PM (Joystiq)
I wouldn't really call him a "douche", but he does seem to incorrectly believe that his "indie status" exempts him from criticism of Space Giraffe. Of which the game sorely deserves.

The concept was sound, and cool, but the design was just hideous and the sort of thing you'd think an intellectual game designer like himself would avoid.

When a player dislikes game, not because it's "too hard", "dull" or "not my thing", but because it's nearly impossible to discern what anything on the screen is at any point in time, that's the fault of the developers, not the public.

Joyswag Holidaze: Left 4 Dead (Xbox 360) & Turtle Beach Ear Force X3 Headphones

Dec 10th 2008 9:07PM (Joystiq)
Those headphones can plug into an iPod, right? Like with an adapter or something, right?

Cause then I think I'll need them to run around killing zombies and blasting Devo in my skull.

"You chainsaw a zombie
And then you turn around..."

Q Entertainment: Meteos Wars showers XBLA this Wednesday

Dec 8th 2008 12:21PM (Joystiq)
Man, I love me some Meteos. On the bus, on my lunch break, while taking a lengthy griffin ride in WoW...

But on the 360? I dunno, it sounds a little hard to image the gameplay on an analogue pad.

MTV beats some Fallout 3 DLC deets out of Bethesda

Nov 26th 2008 12:51PM (Joystiq)
Ditto. Though I was wondering if the Brotherhood of Steel quest DLC was gonna be done through the menu considering they've said it continues the story after the end of the game.

New LBP costumes feature LocoRoco, TV-on-head

Nov 19th 2008 2:36PM (Joystiq)
Yup. The actual one makes sense since it reflects the cartoony/homemade look of LBP more than the original design, but it is sad that they didn't stick with the TV static body material, that would have been nice.
