Rumor: Warhawk to become PS3 download [update 2]

Jan 16th 2007 4:55PM (Joystiq)
It's not cancelled, as David Jaffe himself comments on in the neogaf forum. It may see some changes or come in a different form, but you'll probably want to throw this one in the rumor waste bin.

Early PS3 shortages hurting more than just sales?

What's hurting the PS3 is the sensationalist media (Hi Joystiq!) and sheep-like mobs of pseudo intellectuals on the internet (Hi Joystiq posters!).

Joystiq poll: Console purchase plans

Nov 15th 2006 11:29AM (Joystiq)
Joystiq and its patrons:

Blind Sony hate, mob-mentality (little or no ability to think on one's own), zero intelligence, and extreme Nintendo/Xbox fanaticism (more like Xbox 360 fanboys that will also purchase a Wii)...

You must all be happy now. You have a gathering place for your circle jerks. The reality of the situation is that Sony is still going to be the market leader, but that they will lose marketshare, obviously. But don't be caught on the wrong end of the stick with all this religous zealotism I see here...many good games are going to be exclusive to the PS3.

I know it's fun to hate on the market leader to fill some nerd void in your life, but it's not the wise thing to do. If you bought stuff based on the games you'd like (like non-fanboys), most of you probably wouldn't be hating on Sony at all.

PS3 Ridge Racer: 9 minutes too long?

A lot of f*cking stupid anti-Sony fanboys on this blog...

I swear every freakin' piece of Sony new is twisted and contorted to feed some kind of massive fanboy/media agenda to bring down Sony just because it's currently the leader of the market. Seriously, WTF, get the f*ck over yourselves. You are all insignificant and hold no power over the market. You are wasting your energy.

All 3 consoles will have their strengths and weaknesses. But if you foolishly think that PS3 is not going to badass, you are in for a rude awakening. The tide is already turning. Once you get hands on time with it, you all are going to want it (just like the other 2 consoles). So, what the hell is everyone bitching about? It's getting uber tiring. I can't peruse the blogs or news media anymore without getting insanely twisted, biased, and spun information constantly flung at me. I thought the internets was supposed to solve the problem of biased news source. Now we have more than ever.

Halo 3 info leaked: new weapons, vehicles, features & Collector's Edition detailed [update 1]

UNDERWHELMINGTON...

While the game looks fun in traditional Halo fashion, Joystiq is full of so many Xbots it's no wonder no one has criticized the completely underwhelming graphics yet. This place is pathetic.

Misprint: Someone tell Wal-Mart the PS3 costs at least $500

Oct 25th 2006 9:19AM (Joystiq)
This is like a circle jerk of sony hate...joystiq, commenters, everyone. For no reason other than that they have no lives, and there is no real news.

Don't have the money to buy the console? Get a job sloth. Otherwise, gtfo. This is getting tiresome. Fvcking pathetic.

PS3: Dual Shake is dead, long live Sixaxis

Oct 3rd 2006 12:52PM (Joystiq)
Holy crap, what a bunch of xbox fanboys here...it's like a circle jerk in every freakin' PS3 blog. You should just buckle down and buy one already because you are all obviously nervous about something PS3 has to offer. Either that or you lack the emotional will-power and stability to live life without blatantly endorsing one product over another. Why don't you all apply for a job at Microsoft? Pathetic.

Report: 50GB, dual-layer Blu-ray discs WILL play

Sep 14th 2006 2:42PM (Engadget)
Engadget HD-DVD fanbois much? I think so. Why don't you just hate everything Sony while you are at it? Internet geeks compose one of the base-headed, most ignorant demographic I can think of at the moment.

Ps. Blogs don't work well as a news source unless you are fairly objective.

Gaming by introverts, for introverts

Sep 13th 2006 2:38PM (Joystiq)
Weird. Prior to seeing this headline on Joystiq, I was actually reading about my typology, INTP, on the web. INTPs are the rarest typology, and therefore, the least understood. INTPs are quoted as being, "the architects of systems," and I would have to agree with that assessment. The world may not understand us. We are loners many times. But we do shape and change the perceptions the world has of itself. INTPs, however few we are in numbers, are an important breed. Just browse the following list of INTPs, and this becomes readily apparent:

-Socrates
-Rene Descartes
-Blaise Pascal
-Sir Isaac Newton
-William Harvey
-C. G. Jung (the man)
-Albert Einstein (the man, part deux)
-etc.

It is no surprise, in my opinion, that INTPs (along with similar types) have both invented and pioneered the videogame industry. The ramifications of interactive simulation are far greater reaching than entertainment. They are the basis of the most cutting-edge cognitive psychological research into understanding the process of human learning and education. Experiential cognition (the gaining of usefully practiced skill-sets) studies are epitomised by the experience interactive simulation affords the user.

What I'm basically saying is that videogames are moving the world forward (regardless of whether or not certain people buy this idea or not). Learning in the future will be greatly enhanced through methodologies attributed first to videogames. And you can thank those seemingly unsociable introverted folks that sit in the corner for that!

:)
