Refresh my memory, besides the Mii, which is a glorified avatar, what new characters have Nintendo produced in this generation?

Mario, Metroid, Link, KIrby, even Pikmin all were created years ago, and then iterated on over and over.

While I admire the creativity of games like Super Mario Galaxy for overhauling the platforming mechanics so effectively, why couldn't those mechanics be put to use with a new character ala Ratchet and Clank?

I suppose for younger gamers, Mario seems new and fresh, but I for one am tired of the sight of him.

I guess i can see the humor in pretending that you are not stuck with developing the same, exact character over and over, since your company no longer produces new IP.

It does look stunning, but my next computer purchase will be a tower. I've been gaming on a laptop for years now, and i want to step up to a graphical powerhouse, but as cheaply as possible. Gaming laptops are too expensive and harder to upgrade.

I hope this works as well as the replica Half Life 2 crowbar I bought.

I think they may have missed their release window a bit. The Half Life franchise is rapidly ceasing to be relevant.

Hmmm, I don't think I can forgive Valve for this.

Oops, my first comment did not go though. I was just saying that my launch era 60 gig PS3 picked this week to bail on me.

And to make my PS3 breakdown even worse, my copy of Portal 2 is stuck inside :(

GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS !!!!!! (luckily i activated my steam copy already, so i got to play it)

I wonder if Nintendo will use its giant money pile to leapfrog over the next generation offering of Sony and Microsoft, making a super-powerful machine; or if they will prefer to stay behind in the graphics department like this generation.
