because BioShock borrowed heavily from themes/ideas from the Fallout games.

Wait, did Cliffy confirm GoW2 four player co-op? [update 2]

it was in UT3, I would be surprised if it were absent in Gears 2. Even if it is 'too easy', the more the merrier.

Fallout 3 to have over 200 individual endings

Mar 26th 2008 8:22AM (Joystiq Xbox)
"'Fo1 has 19 different endings, with 360 possible permutations. Fo2 has 47 endings with 1,105,920 permutations. If 200 is the number of permutations for Fo3, they are seriously behind. That would correspond to maybe 10-20 endings. But I'm assuming they'd have to be talking about permutations since you should know when designing a game whether you'll have ~12 or ~200 endings. You don't accidentally hop from 12 to 200 endings late in the development process and send in an order for 188 additional voiceovers from Ron Perlman (because he will KILL YOU). With permutations it would be thinkable, at least.'

Bethesda AI programmer Jay Woodward appears to be in agreement here, as we calculate that 255 permutations only requires 8 different yes-no variables (2^8-1)." -- from No Mutants Allowed

why is this game getting so much attention? Just because it's microsoft game studios? It's half a game and it doesn't even look like a decent half.

Is flOw the PS3's killer app right now?

Thanks for the link above. I keep skimming over these FLOW articles so this is the first time I've actually played it. As far as this thing being original. It reminded me of a game I used to play wayyyyy back in my elementary school era. Same basic concept except you were a little fish in a river. Ate smaller stuff, got bigger, had to watch out for predators. Does anyone else remember this game or the name?

Bethesda "several years" into Fallout 3 development

Jan 26th 2007 12:30PM (Joystiq)
Whether it's ISO or TB doesn't really matter. Those are just the mechanics of it. The personality of Fallout is what's important and, as stated above in this comments thread, it's about having some impact on the story rather than just hacking through dungeons for predetermined plot points to be uncovered. That and the great characters/dialog.

Rumor: Fallout 3 bound for 360?

Jan 24th 2007 3:56PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I hope it isn't as shallow an exercise as Oblivion was. The linear paths on all the quest lines was a huge disappointment. Fallout deserves better.
