XCOM Preview: Mass affect
Jun 14th 2011 4:58PM (Joystiq)I agree that this seems a lot more in line with the x-com of old.

The Force Unleashed 2 on sale for $40 at Microsoft Store
Oct 20th 2010 5:18PM (Joystiq)apparently not on sale anymore. I bought it at the "$40" price, which ended up closer to $48 with tax & shipping.
Adam Carolla explains why he's not doing Top Gear USA
May 25th 2010 4:43PM (Autoblog)The whole point of Top Gear is that it is not unbiased. They play up the stereotypes of every countries cars, they slam every countries cars flaws. Besides Clarkson bought a Ford GT so that alone illustrates the "bias" is for entertainment only.
Any show with a "cool wall" is clearly not about impartial reporting.
EPA still not settled on MPG labels for plug-ins, Volt unlikely to get 230 mpg
Apr 20th 2010 1:10PM (Autoblog)Also eventually an electricity used rating needs to show up like on appliances.
Mini's future is smaller engines, DCT, and challenging the Mazda Miata?
Mar 15th 2010 12:02PM (Autoblog)I drive a Miata and whenever I get something like that I explain what the car really is. If I get more guff I explain I don't let things define me, if I get MORE guff I pretty much decide that's not someone I want to be around.
First Panasonic 3DTV review in, great blacks and the best 3D anywhere
Mar 12th 2010 10:22AM (Engadget HD)I've had my 42" G10 for over 6 months and i have not noticed any changes.
The drastic change apparently does not affect every set. However, this makes me feel better about getting the extended warranty. Anyone buying a panny in the future should fork over for the same.

Mar 11th 2010 6:53PM (Autoblog)Dragon Age 'TidBits' drop stats like a Fluffy punch
Mar 9th 2010 11:29AM (Joystiq)Making something entails taking its components then converting those components into the desired product. So "I made this pie by myself" is a correct statement.
If you want to get hung up on semantics you can say, "No the oven and all your tools helped" but nobody cares about ovens and ovens don't require credit as they have no ego. So pointing that out only makes you an asshole.
I'm with you on the "I could care less" though.
EA confesses to bad ideas in first Army of Two
Jan 13th 2010 7:48PM (Joystiq)I didnt say you were protecting Americans, I said you were killing those who intended to kill innocent Americans (though in fact, one mission you specifically DO rescue and protect an American). Additionally through the narrative one character essentially was in it for the money and action, while the other was interested in discovering the truth behind the terrorist plots and the other comes around. The main protagonists were interested in cash, but what brought the situation to a head was the idea of loyalty to each other. The villains in fact were the ones interested in money alone.
The larger issue here is trying to draw conclusions about societies or individuals on the basis of a single game, and not one that didn't sell spectacularly anyway.
I see this as no worse than any GTA game (murder, theft), Mass Effect (murder, coup), or any other game that puts you in the role of someone on the fringes of the law.
Truthfully I thought at least the game was a commentary on the use of PMCs in Iraq, and not an entirely flattering one.
