GT Academy returns, best Gran Turismo players become professional racers
Dec 3rd 2010 4:09AM (Joystiq)I used to hate corners when I was a noon at this game... But I finally understand corners.Llike neo before me (lol) ......realizing that " it is not the spoon that bends, you find that it is you that bend"
That's how corners are. Get it? No? Try this...
1) feel the road
2) feel the car
3) dance with both (1) and (2) for a while....hopefully you have a steering wheel
4) after getting acquainted with the dance that is (3)... Learn the step
5) the steps are the individual tracks and how different they are. Yes, learn the different dances.
5-b) while learning all these steps, you'll realize that each car will dance differently and simultaneously realize ( in first person view) that you gently lean to every corner before it's in your face.. So you don't turn at the curve you start way before and you make the apex(tip of corner) lined up with the middle of the windshield in first person view.
Now all you got to do is keep these steps in mind and follow the dance till otoh get it... Aka hours of practice.. And you'll find that the game is extremely immersive. Back to neo.. " don't try and hit me, just hit me" let go of what you think and open your mind. Dude I'm so high... But this was perfect. I'm telling you., if anyone disagree I dare you to give facts on a better way to do it. I wnt to know.
