Fanswag: Win a 120GB Hard Drive for Xbox 360 [update]

Good luck to me, sweet contest!!!

Wii on an HD set? It'll cost ya extra (if you want it to look good). (Wii annoyance #004)

Nov 20th 2006 6:08PM (Joystiq)
Come on people, it's an annoyance. It is, using composite inputs on a good HDTV tends to look like ass. Even worse than it would on a standard TV. I understand why nintendo didn't put them in hey, free revenue stream, but it would have cost them maybe an extra dollar to swap out cables that had both compnent and COMPOSITE inputs. I mean the SNES came with composite inputs back in the day where not as many tvs had them, and it had a RF adaptor too for those who couldn't use them. Same thing here.

Agreed this should be a Sony annoyance too.

TGS: DOAX2 passes the "one hand" test

Sep 23rd 2006 10:23AM (Joystiq)
I think most people missed the point of DoAX, I think the best feature the game had wasn't its boobs, it was actually the chill factor. It was one of the only games where you could just sit back, and relax while playing. Most games try to pump you up in some way, not DOAX, it was a very different experience in that it was just about relaxing, listening to music and taking in the visuals.

Game magazine subscription data

Jan 12th 2006 8:39PM (Joystiq)
for the record GI started out as the fanzine for Funcoland, not DieHard. DieHard was the company that greated GameFan, my favorite when I was younger and didn't notice the complete and utter lack of professionalism in the magazine. I think Dave Halverson now runs play, which I picked up once, then laughed my ass off when in an interview he suggested to one of the Sega guys to do a 2-d sonic for the home systems. He spoke as if it could actually happen. LOL. Every one of the major magazines has had its good times, though all the great ones have died.

Best ever IMO:
1. Next Generation: It got worse towards the end when it ditched the interviews, but still the best ever IMO.
2. Electronic Games: Short Run, but had some of the best articles in the business.
3. Game Players: Probably my favorite 'fun' magazine, got reams better than its old self, then died.
4. Intelligent Gamer, laster all of 5 minutes, but what a 5 minutes.
5. Video Games and Computer Entertainment: Andy Eddy was probably the best editor in the business.
