The first Transformers: Fall of Cybertron trailer is dark, whompy

Oct 14th 2011 9:43PM (Joystiq)
For those of you asking why Grimlock is a T'Rex in this game, the answer is here:

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2011/10/13/the-illustrated-tour-of-cybertron.aspx?PostPageIndex=2

"The calculating Decepticon scientist, Shockwave, has uncovered a last functional space bridge, and is slowly unraveling its secrets. He has already used it to examine a far distant planet filled with organic life – a place that will later be called Earth by its inhabitants. On Earth, he observes hulking reptilian beasts that inspire his dark science experiments. He has captured a powerful squad of Autobot warriors led by Grimlock, and those unfortunate soldiers will fall victim to Shockwave’s experiments as he tries to recreate those distant dinosaur creatures here on Cybertron. "

So...yes, still a prequel to one possible G1 future.

Would-be Batman: Arkham City trailer is fishy, let's take a closer look

@ChrisGrant

Might be re-used dialogue, but the cadence is off from how it was delivered in Arkham Asylum. Might be fake, or might be Warner's attempt to cover up a co-op challenge mode.

The free equipment, doesn't unbalance anything. They aren't even necessarily top-tier weapons or armor, just different. Some armors give a minor boost to biotic damage or speed power recharge times slightly for example. Weapon differences are things like: This smg is very rapid-fire but low damage while /this/ smg fires at a slower rate but does more damage per shot. Things like that

I know bro, was just clarifying myself that I don't put much stock in their numbers either. Sometimes they're.....in the ballpark. Sometimes not. Thanks for saying that though. :)

Yeah, which is why I said 'If these numbers are even close to the truth'. I'm not sure where their figures come from either, I suppose we'll find out on Thursday what the situation is, but having seen tons of these things littering shelves at multiple retailers I'd say it's pretty obvious that sales are not going well at all.

Now I think I'll boot up Tony 2 and remember the glory days for about 5 minutes, then hold a funeral for the series. :)

They may not be 'official' numbers but VGChartz is showing that it's shipped right around 100k units combined since release. That's the sum of all 3 systems. Incidentally, it's sold 3x more on Wii than it has on 360 or PS3. Either way, if those numbers are even close to the truth I'd say the Tony Hawk franchise is still in very big trouble
